I'm photo editor with 5-year experience.
I specialized in beauty/fashion retouching.

I have an individual approach to each photo and always try to make it more interesting, original and unusual.
So, I can say that retouching - it's my favourite job!
During my professional career, I got publications in Dryminds mag, NAKID mag, Elegant mag, The Draft mag, Dreamless mag.

Our readers would love to get to know you more Liya. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you, your brand or the services you offer?

as You see, I have an unusual name - Liya Embrace, but I must say that this name is not real
When I started retouching career, I wanted to build my brand, that will have a nice name and will sound good!
And from that time I created this nickname consist of 2 words.
Liya - I like how soft and tender this name sounds.
Embrace - maybe You can't understand my crazy mind, but I inspired with the book of
Andrzej Sapkowski called "Witcher".
There was one character who has the second name "Erase", and I imagined how it would sound together - "Liya Erase".
I liked it! But I wanted to add some sense to name of my brand, and I remembered verb "Embrace", that so close to Erase.
I was thinking: "Woooww, it will fit so good for me."
So finally, Liya EMBRACED all creative fields that I love: retouching, photography, cinematography, insta blog, textile art.
So all lines of my art can call Liya Embrace
I hope. You understood all that I told You.
And my real name is Tatyana Kondratyuk!

Liya, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Retoucher?

For this moment I can say that food photography, and cinemagraphs is my passion. Recently I bought Fujifilm XT-20, so now I can take photographs using a professional camera, not a simple smartphone.

What about retouching: I always loved editing photos, that was my hobby. I used Adobe Photoshop just for editing my photos, that was a nice experience
Then I understood that I could make money with my hobby!
I learned to retouch for a while, and then I found photographers for collaboration.
with each new order my experience increased, and
and it increases now

Who is your inspiration in life Liya? How do you stay inspired as Retoucher?

I'm inspired by different photographers: fashion, beauty and food photographers. I love Peter Lindbergh, Patrick Demarchelier, Tina Eisen, Linda Lomelino.

We all make mistakes Liya; we wish we could take back. What was the mistake you made in the past that you wish you can take back?
You know, I think I don't want to take back things and mistakes that I did. I did choices that change me and made me who I am now.

Liya, How do you describe yourself regarding working with clients?

I'm a responsible and fair person; I always meet deadlines (it's important). I love my work, and I put my soul in each photograph. My clients = my friends, and
I cherish these friendly relations

Please tell us Liya, how do you prioritise work, social life, friends, and family?

2. Work
3. Social life
And I think this list change time to time

Liya, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.

I'm not sure that I understood the question correctly, but I think I worked one year as a retoucher, and then photographers began to notice me

Liya please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Retoucher.

My work got publication in the Elegant mag, and it will be printed! Also one of the photos that I retouched is on the cover!

Liya, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?

I always can be creative when I do colour grading. Because colour always creates the atmosphere and mood of the photo. And also photo compositing and matte painting projects are always creative and exciting. I imagine how I want to see final image, and then I create a photo from many parts. In such projects, you need to be able to fantasize and have a sense of taste

What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Retoucher?*
You need to work hard! And you always need to follow and view photographers and other retouchers.

Now for the best part Liya! Please upload 5-10 photos so we can get to see your work.
