That's a hard question; we are all unique! I want to think no one sees the world the way that I do, through my eyes.... my experiences in life shape it.
Zenaida, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Photographer?
I fell in love with photography as a medium of artistic expression when I was 14 years old. I learned on my dad's old film camera, developed my photos and spent endless hours in the darkroom creating images. It was love at first sight!
Who is your inspiration in life Zenaida? How do you keep inspired?
Vulnerability, awkwardness, the truth often inspire me. I love to tell a narrative with my photos. People I meet, music, art, locations, light... it all inspires me, there's so much in life to draw inspiration from.
We all make mistakes Zenaida; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Photographer; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I wish I knew my self-worth as a budding young photographer. Hard lesson to learn, but an important lesson was learned.
Zenaida, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Photographer, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
I like to keep the communication open and transparent so that everyone's needs are clear and met. I am an excellent multitasker, so this helps!
Please tell us Zenaida, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Photographer?
I think its a balancing game as a freelancer.
Zenaida, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
I am very open when working with a team or a client. I believe in collaboration, not just my vision. Sometimes I am able to visually problem solve a situation in a way another wouldn't have thought of, and when it works, it's amazing.
Zenaida, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Photographer. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
When I moved to Sydney from Vancouver, it was a big challenge to leave my clients and the career I built and start fresh in a brand new market. It was my rewarding to know that I was able to build a successful new career there and still have amazing contacts from that experience.
Zenaida, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
Creativity is what drives my vision and turns it into reality. There's always a story to tell, and I feel like my job is to tap into my creativity to problem solve it visually. Each experience is different and has its challenges.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Photographer?
Go for it!
