Alright, now for the interview! Firstly Viktoria, how would you best describe yourself?
Our readers would love to get to know you more Viktoria. Tell us about yourself, why you are passionate about what you do, and your journey so far.
I’m a photographer from Latvia, based in Riga. I’ve always been admiring photographers and their ability to create works of art from the simple things. A few years ago, the world of photography was for me like an unreachable world. However, if someone believes in you and he is confident that you as well can belong to this world, you also start believing that you can reach your dreams. I believe that everyone is beautiful in his own way, and it is a photography that helps me to show the unicity of each person’s individuality.

Keep interviewing me!
What are your goals and how do you see yourself progressing in the field Viktoria?
I was always attracted and inspired by fashion photography. This is the area where you can create masterpieces based on human’s beauty. There is a plenty space for creativity, where you can embody all your imagination.
How do you communicate with people Viktoria? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements?
I always do my best to enter the friendly zone with my clients. It is extremely important, because a lot of people do not feel confident in front of the camera. When the model is not relaxed and feels uncomfortable with you, it is a failure straight away. That’s why, my rule number one is to make people comfortable to work with me and try to make the process of photoshoot fun and exited.
If you had to do it over again, what would you change Viktoria?
Probably nothing. I am happy with the experience that I’ve got. Everything that has happened to us is for good. Our experience, whether it is good or bad, is our best life teacher.
Who is your hero Viktoria, and how have they helped you get to where you are?
My husband. Only because of him I am where I am now. He is the person who believed in me in the first place. He helped me to make my first step to my dream, showed me how to become more confident in what I am doing, and he was always next to me in the difficult moments. I would not be a photographer, if not him. He is the person who believes that we have to do in our lives what we are passionate about, and only then we will be truly happy. I am happy now.
How important are creative education courses Viktoria? Have you taken any, and did you find them useful?
Any education is useful. Both theory and practice are important, and one cannot exist without another. I did attend some photography master classes, and they definitely were not a waste of time.
Do you have any tips for someone who is just starting out in the industry?
Be confident. And never stop learning. The photography industry is unique because it never stands in one place – the tendencies are constantly changes. And if you are not ready to spend the rest of your life learning and improving, then probably it is not your place.
