Alright, now for the interview! Firstly Viivi-Maria, how would you best describe yourself?

Our readers would love to get to know you more Viivi-Maria. Tell us about yourself, why you are passionate about what you do, and your journey so far.
I grew up in the media industry and knew from a very early age that I had a passion for photography. I love telling stories, whether that be a love story or somebody's personal journey. I love being able to capture a moment that speaks louder than words, and an image which is unique to the model in front of the picture.

Keep interviewing me!

What are your goals and how do you see yourself progressing in the field Viivi-Maria?
If I were allowed to dream as big as possible with no limitations, I would probably say that I want to be a full-time destination wedding photographer. But mainly my desire and goal in life are to make an impact by raising awareness about mental health, self-care by creating communities of creatives where people can speak openly and honestly. That's what I would say is my life-long goal.

How do you communicate with people Viivi-Maria? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements?
I love hearing clients' ideas and being able to work together with people on making their dreams a reality. So I would describe myself as very open and a strong communicator who just loves getting to know people and their passions.

If you had to do it over again, what would you change Viivi-Maria?
If I had to do it over again, I don't know that I would change a thing. I'm incredibly proud of the struggles I have had to go through in this industry to get to where I am today, and that never changes. I've learned so much from the mistakes that I would never give them up.

Who is your hero Viivi-Maria, and how have they helped you get to where you are?
My brother, by far. He has always encouraged me in my work and given me constructive criticism when needed. He's been an awesome influence and example as he runs his own production company as well.

How important are creative education courses Viivi-Maria? Have you taken any, and did you find them useful?
I went on a two-year media course which was immensely helpful as it helped give me the right environment in which to practice and refine my craft.

Do you have any tips for someone who is just starting out in the industry?
Don't stop or quit. Regardless of what people say about your work, keep going. If it's your passion - keep pushing through the frustrations.
