I truly believe that models should have some unique and natural beauty which allows them to stand out from the rest. In my case, I have had nine open heart surgeries leaving me with several scars. Photographers that I have worked with in the past have turned a tragedy into beauty. I have something that is not found in most models but allows for several people, young and old, to feel beautiful.
Victoria, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
My passions include poetry, healthy living, and modelling. I began modelling at age 3 when my mother became a manager at a children's clothing boutique. From there, I went onto modelling for several other stories in my hometown. Growing up, I modelled for photographers and friends here and there. If was around age 16 that I started to take modelling seriously.
Who is your inspiration in life Victoria? How do you keep inspired?
I have a list of inspirational people who I take the better qualities from. However, my mother is who keeps me inspired. Constant positivity feedback and endless support from her is why I continue modelling.
We all make mistakes Victoria; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I have had amazing experiences working with colleagues. I can't remember a time that I disagreed or had a bad session with one.
Victoria, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
I am a very organised person which allows me never to overbook, become frustrated, or not show up willing to give my 110%.
Please tell us Victoria, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
If I ever become overwhelmed with my expectations, meditation and yoga are what allows me to gather my thoughts and set everything in order.
Victoria, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
When I'm with a photographer, I always love to share ideas in hopes to better their work. There have been many times when I will suggest a different top, lip color, or even backgrounds. I'm always willing to help better the photographers work as well as my own.
Victoria, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
When auditioning for the runway, I auditioned for a models cruise to Mexico which was held in Des Moines, IA. On this cruise, models from around the world would audition all week while agencies would scout models. I was beyond nervous for this audition and walking into seeing roughly 300 girls didn't make it any better. After my audition, I expected to never hear from them again. To my surprise, I was one of the 15 girls who was picked for the cruise. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the cruise, but the accomplishment of-of being chosen is one of my proudest moments.
Victoria, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
My scars allow creativity in every photoshoot but the most challenging time I had was when I was topless in front of the camera for the first time. I wasn't uncomfortable; I was simply vulnerable to what I saw was once a flaw. That was the moment I had to embrace my scars allowing myself to love them truly.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
My only advice is to love yourself truly.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I am constantly looking for more opportunities to gain experience and challenge myself. I do not have an exact type of collaboration I am looking for.
