ABOUT
I'm a fashion designer who has created their own Women's wear label that specializes in high-end evening wear. The aesthetics for my brand are based on my mixed ethnicity of
Argentinian, Korean and 1/4 Italian. I bring a little of each beautiful country into my dresses. I strive to make my clothing more readily available for the women who want to look sexy and beautiful.

Our readers would love to get to know you more Vanessa. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?

I believe that is the fact that I'm mixed with Korean, Argentinian a little bit Italian. I was raised by my Italian mother who came from a line of tailors with their own store in Buenos Aires. The talent of being able to make fabric into art is born into me.It is something that I have not gone to school for and I have a strong passion for it. It is what drives me to turn my label into a bigger brand.

Vanessa, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Fashion Label?

My passion is to have my own fashion house and do amazing runway shows in Paris, Milan, Tokyo and more.I want to show the clothing industry what my brand and I are capable.
I began doodling with fashion and sketching my freshmen year of High School. I had been accepted to a magnet school that specialized in Fashion, which in got me curious about it all. I received sewing, illustration and business classes in the fashion industry. When I began to sketch gowns and then play with the fabric it all started to come together. By junior yr, I had realized that this is something that I wanted to do for the rest of my life. That is how my brand began in 2009 and it is still going as of today.

Who is your inspiration in life Vanessa? How do you keep inspired?

If you had asked me a couple of years ago, who or what is my inspiration I'd of said, Karl Lagerfeld. However, fast forward to 2017 and it has changed for me. I recently got engaged and had a baby boy in April of 2016. He's now 1 and is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I look at that little face and think of all the things I want to do for him. My inspiration is now going stronger then it has before because of my baby boy. I want to leave a legacy for him and show him the world and the beauty that there still is. These are my aspirations and motivations.

We all make mistakes Vanessa, we wish we could take back. Please tell us about a time being a Fashion Label, you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
Admitting to a mistake is never easy for anyone I believe. Therefore, the one time I would like to have done differently with a colleague, would be a photo shoot. Back in 2014, I had turned down quite a bit of idea from a stylist I was working with. Though the ideas were great, they didn't fit with the theme. I reflect on it now and think that I could have been nicer and more open to new different ideas.

Vanessa, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Fashion Label, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?

I tend to go with timelines and due dates for everything. I set a due date for myself for how long I believe it will take to create a garment and continue that way. By putting myself on schedule, it allows me to focus more on that piece and work with great dedication and ease. That is how I organize clients.

Please tell us, Vanessa, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Fashion Label?

That would be when I put on my first fashion show for this organization named RAW. I had to be a one-man show. Organizing all the models, styling, picking hair and makeup, shoes and more. I needed a strategy in order to get it all done so I started at the top(making the dress) and worked my way down ( such as putting together model walks and time). It was a lot of work but it paid off.

Vanessa, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
I have a background in hospitality and working in the hotel/casino industry in Las Vegas can be tough, especially when it comes to guests. Dealing with guests from around the world and how different everyone is.Whether it be cultural or religious. Accommodating their needs sometimes when a certain room or event isn't available, required me to improvise and come up with new ideas. I had to persuade them to go with a different room type because it had a better view or better beds, etc. My line of background work required me to always be persuasive when the time came.

Vanessa, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Fashion Label. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
Our proudest fashion label moment would be submitting our portfolios to Vancouver, L.A, and Portland Fashion week and then getting responses back saying that we have been accepted to show. To all three shows. As of now, our label has been set to schedule next year at Portland Fashion Week and we are very excited!

Vanessa, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
As I've stated before, I have a background in hospitality and customer service. In that line of work, you have to be creative as much as you can to take care of a guest needs.

What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Fashion Label?

I would say to all those indie and emerging brands, like myself, that all it takes is dedication and passion to get your name out there. It might take 2,3 years or even 6 to make it off the ground but it will all pay off. Just look down the line at what your future can be and go for it.

Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands, and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
We as a brand are always looking for amazing photographers, models, stylists, and hair/mua to work with. Also, looking into getting some PR work done with people who'd like to add it to an internship or experience on their resumes.

Now for the best part Vanessa! Please upload 5-10 photos so we can get to see your work.
Please add any photo credits for the photos you uploaded so that everybody can get recognized. Please fill this out properly,
