United States Photographer
State / Region
The unique thing about me is that I am a photographer, but I have also been fashion stylists, I love creating interesting videos, and I can also style photo shoots very well.
The United States, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Photographer?
My passion is to help people, mostly women but I do as well help men too... but I truly love to help people that need that boost confidence that their looks are beautiful and for them to know that social media should not stop them at all. I make sure that my photography expresses the beauty of others that are not shown so often when it comes to fashion photography. Now don't give me wrong, I do also work with models that have been in the industry for so long, but I also love to work with women that are struggling with that and don't think they are beautiful. I want my work to inspire the ones that need it the most and for them to know that their beauty may be different but it matters. I started when I was in high school, I first was in a fashion design class and hated designing, and so I took photography classes for three years, shot fashion photographs, and loved it.
Who is your inspiration in life United States? How do you keep inspired?
My inspiration in life is to make sure my photography is helping people. I get inspired by others that want to help others feel that they belong or that they are beautiful. I will also say, I do get inspired a lot by movies as well. As I said, I love creating videos for fun and movies inspire me to do that. I have done some photo shoots inspired by movies, and I also get ideas from them as well even if it's something small. Sometimes from music too but it depends what kind of music it is.
We all make mistakes United States; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Photographer; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I was working with a client that wanted photos taken for her wedding. It was an indoor wedding at her home. She wanted to be small and simple, so I gave her everything she wanted. I don't work on weddings, so I gave her a low price for me to photograph. After I gave her the images, she asked for more, and that she wanted prints, I told her that it would be $50 more for prints. She got angry and went off on me. I got mad and didn't say anything to her. I wish that I would've worked something out with her so that I could keep her as a client.
The United States, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Photographer, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
In order, because whoever I was working with first, gets the service and the images first but it also depends on the deadline which needs to be done first. I make sure that I please to what everyone needs from me because everyone different and I want to make sure that everyone is important to me as well.
Please tell us the United States, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Photographer?
The first thing I do is plan my shoots and what my tasks are. I make sure I write everything down and the date as well. I have to write when and where and who the model or models are. When it comes to time and when it's supposed to be done when it comes to photo shoots, it depends on how long the client gives me or when it's on my time or a project I'm working on my own time. When it comes to editing, I make sure I time myself to how long I edit images and also how many needs to be edited. I use Lightroom first to sort out which is best and then work more editing in Photoshop.
The United States, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
I would probably say maybe for an hour or two. Maybe even more.
The United States, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Photographer. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
The proudest time was when I created a portfolio book because I loved creating books, especially lookbooks for fashion designers and stylists. I have started making books for fashion designers that I'm friends with and fell in love with cookbooks. So anyway, I had to create a book that shows my best work, and with this book, I expressed my inner designer and designed the book by adding shapes and colours. It looked like a book that was for a fashion store. I was so excited to show it off in one of my photography classes and to my portfolio show.
The United States, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I have been so creative when it comes to a couple of my projects but the most one when I was truly creative was when I started my superhero series. I did the Joker, Batman, Superman, and other heroes. I also made sure that most of these projects expressed the superhero but also the fashion of it as well. The make was insanely beautiful, and I made sure the outfits were interesting as well. I have stopped for now working on that series, but I would sure love to keep going.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Photographer?
My advice would be to make sure your passion shows and for never stop doing it. Make sure that you stay to what you love. Like for me, I love fashion and photography so fashion photography is my passion and I know it's hard getting into that but NEVER STOP, doesn't matter how hard it is to get there. KEEP GOING because your passion will show and someone will notice. Try different things when it comes to that field but never stop to why you became a photographer.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
Yes! All sorts of collaborations when it truly comes to fashion. Ones that I would love to would be FOSSIL, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Forever 21, H&M, Aeropostale, Gucci, Chanel, Victoria Secret, Calvin Klein, Prada, Burberry, Louis Vuitton. With magazines, it would be like Vogue, Elle, Rolling Stones, FASHION, GQ for men fashion is a good one to work with and Vanity Fair. Working with celebrities and models as well for me too. I know most of these are high, but it's dreams that I would love to collaborate on one day.
