My journey of creativity is not one of the usual. I began my journey in life as an athlete, one who had big dreams of playing professional basketball. But I also had big dreams of making an impact on the world through creativity. As a young person, I was unaware of the stories I wanted to tell, or how my impact would be felt, but I knew there were things I was meant to do. As I shared my dreams of creativity and impacting the world, I soon found this was not accepted amongst my basketball world. “Focus on basketball; you’re too good to be dabbling with other activities.” “Train hard, Get in the gym.” Are all that I ever heard, so I did. I hid my creative light; I pretended to dislike writing, art, photos, media, and film. I was an athlete, and that is how I must present for the world. When it came time for college my mother encouraged me to study public affairs, or public relations, or anything of interest to me with in what I called “the creative world.” I denied the idea, convinced that as an athlete I cannot do both. After college, I accomplished my dream of playing professional basketball. As I accomplished that dream, I was still urging for more, “What’s next?” I gave up playing basketball, and began to embrace my feelings of creativity. Art, writing, photos, spoken word, film, television are all that I love. I study them, enjoy watching, and writing, and creating ideas. From my journey, Hooper to Creative was born. It is a brand I created and something I live by. I currently still play basketball in the NYC summer women’s leagues, and I love it! I create content, write scripts, poems, and spoken word, and I love it! I film and practice my skills as a photographer, and I love it! I have learned that I can embody all of who I am, that is what Hooper to Creative stands for. Finding your true self and embracing that, regardless of what society tells you. Through creativity, I can tell a story, which I believe will be my impact on the world.

Our readers would love to get to know you more Talia. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?
My background in sports has propelled me in life. It also has added to my drive to be successful in the creative realm. I just strive to work hard and prove myself every day as a self-taught creative. I also remain humble and always ready for the challenge of learning new things.
Talia, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Photographer?
My passion and aspiration are to be a great spirited individual. I feel success is what you give to the world not take from it. I just want to motivate others to live in their truth and find happiness within themselves. Everyone can live out their dreams; sometimes we just need some motivation through watching others. I credit my creativity to my mother who has always pushed me to live outside of the "box" that, I so often tried to place myself in.
Who is your inspiration in life Talia? How do you keep inspired?
My mother has been my inspiration since I was a child. She has created and paved a path for me in life that I could never repay her for. Through her struggles and triumph my two sisters, and I can create a life for ourselves that others dream about. She also instilled in me a thought process and work ethic that has allowed me to believe that dreams do come true. I stay inspired by that thought, meeting people is also a big inspiration. I take inspiration from others lives and experiences. My goal is to tell as many stories as I can. Everyone has something to say.
We all make mistakes Talia; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Photographer, you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I would say I am fairly new to photography. So I have not yet had enough experience, to answer this question. My working relationships are all in good standing.
Talia , when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Photographer, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?
I believe the client comes first. If you allow the client to be comfortable, your shoot and pictures will be better. If a client enjoys shooting with me, it makes my job easier.
Please tell us, Talia, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Photographer?
I am a strategic person; I am always thinking of the most efficient way to get things done in a time effective way. With this way of thinking it allows me to meet my priorities. I am a grind it out the type of person.
Talia, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
I enjoy conversation when you give someone the reason behind the idea they can understand it. Just telling someone to do something never works in my eyes. Everyone needs a purpose, I give people the purpose, which allows them to make a decision.
Talia, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Photographer. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
My proudest moment is just when I set goals and reach them. To wake up knowing that I do not give up on my goals makes me extremely proud of myself.
Talia, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
Everything about letting energies and ideas flow is fun for me. I try to work in that mind frame; it is where I am most free. Just let things flow with good energy.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Photographer?
Learn all you can, collab with others, and do not be afraid to ask questions. Most of all have fun and love what you do.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
Yes, I am seeking currently to work with all of the above. Fashion brands are something I am driven to and inspired by. I would love to collab with up and coming brands and participate in the journey from beginning to end.
Now for the best part Talia! Please upload 5-10 photos so we can get to see your work.
