I am a pretty simple laid back girl who enjoys the homebody life, but I also enjoy the exciting things in life such as concerts, travelling, and enjoying aspects of nature. I consider myself a decent baker, and I love wine!
Susan, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
Modelling started for me as a hobby when I was 16, and my photographer best friend would use me as her subject for her photography class. I would also use these pictures on MySpace, and many people would comment and tell me that I should model. When I was 18, I began to look at modelling sites and forums and look for advice and tips from experienced models on the how-tos and what not. Ever since I've aimed to learn and grow in the modelling world. Gaining more exposure and reaching higher places with publishing and recognition is my ultimate goal!
Who is your inspiration in life Susan? How do you keep inspired?
My biggest inspiration is my mother. She had taught me to never give up on my dreams and desires and to always be myself above all!
We all make mistakes Susan; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
When I first started looking into professional modelling at 18, it was hard starting out as I did not have a car and had to rely on secondary transportation. Cancellations had to happen sometimes because of things that would come up and prevent my rides from being able to help me. I wish I would have been able to be more prepared and reliable before beginning my modelling aspects of life.
Susan, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
Communication and organisation are the most important things when working with multiple clients. I would make sure to properly keep schedules in order and stay in touch with clients when it comes to dates, times, confirmations, etc.
Please tell us, Susan, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
Coming prepared and including back up items and ideas is a strategy I always bring with me! Things like strapped time, weather, etc. can drastically affect a shoot. At my last group shoot, time was of the essence with all the photographers I worked with. I made sure all the items I had for each shoot were out and ready to be used for each next shoot. And when bad weather was a possibility or factor of shoots I always made sure to have back up locations or even back up photo ideas ready to use
Susan, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
I always communicated my concerns at work meetings and my strategy was always to be as vivid as possible in detail to show my vision of how I saw things so that others could get a better idea of that vision too.
Susan, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
My recent publishing in Tantalize Magazine's Halloween 2017 issue. It is my first magazine publishing and something I'll always remember as a huge first in my modelling career.
Susan, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
Last month I did a photo shoot with a wolf from a wolf reserve. The wolf was very sporadic, and prolonged still shots and poses were not always possible. I decided to follow the flow of the wolf, looking where she looked, choosing poses that would match or flow alongside her, and as a result, we got some great shots, and our chemistry looked amazing in the pictures!
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
Be patient as you go, and always be open to new ideas!
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I am open to any types of collaborations available!
