Spencer-Marc. Tell us ABOUT yourself.
I actually specialize in computer tech repair and tech help desk. I started photography three years ago as a hobby. I have been more serious about a year ago entering various magazine submissions. I've done headshots for corporate companies and other professionals. I've photographed many party events and imitated moments for families.
I love photography and the relationships that it brings. Lucky enough I live in a city that's over 8 million people to connect.
Our readers would love to get to know you more Spencer-Marc. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?
I am always trying to learn almost anything tech related. I broke and repaired my first computer at the age of 12. Since then I remained curious about new technology. I'm artsy kind of fellow as well. I used to draw as a youth, but now I converted that thru photography.
What separates me from others is that I'm able to work with anyone and try to problem solve the situation (from a photographer's POV). I want everyone around me to succeed.
Spencer-Marc, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Photographer?
I went to Dubai in 2015 and wanted to document everything I saw but wasn't able to at the time. I started to realize that great moments are passing away and I didn't have anything to show. When I returned to NY, I've watched YouTube videos and talked to many local photographers to help build my craft. I still do this today!
Who is your inspiration in life Spencer-Marc? How do you keep inspired?
I have a fiancée that continues feed spiritual information that I need to continue this photography path. She bought my first DSLR for my birthday. She makes me believe I can go far in this field.
We all make mistakes Spencer-Marc, we wish we could take back. Please tell us about a time being a Photographer; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I've been invited to many fashion events when I first started, and I've failed to introduce myself. By nature, I'm an introvert and meeting new people was hard for me. I wish I can turn the hands of time and made those crucial connections.
Spencer-Marc, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Photographer, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?
Most of my clients I handle is on a one to one basis. I usually handle logistics, time management and other things that need to be executed over email and text.
Please tell us Spencer-Marc, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Photographer?
Before I start a project with the client or team, I create vision boards outlining everything we need before we start.
Spencer-Marc, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
Persuasion is a slippery slope. The only time I had to do that was with retouching someone's portrait /headshot. The client requested to remove moles and other certain characteristics. Luckily I was able to convince to just clean up the blemishes.
Spencer-Marc, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Photographer. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
I'm unsure if I can actually answer, only because I honestly think every gig I've done was a great moment for myself.
Spencer-Marc, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
Currently, I'm trying to master gel photography. This is fun and difficult at the same time. The average photographer would probably just smack some gels and take pictures, but I'm actually learning from photographers that specialize in this niche field.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Photographer?
I'll keep it simple. "Don't stop shooting!!!"
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I've started with fashion, and I would like to continue in that world as well. I'm trying to collaborate with local designers and models for submissions.
Now for the best part Spencer-Marc! Please upload 5-10 photos so we can get to see your work.
