Fashion Stylist

ABOUT

I believe that the unique quality I possess is my ability to connect with people from all walks of life and create a difference in their lives in a positive manner

Sonia, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Fashion Stylist?

I'm very passionate about my work where I enable people to transform themselves and make them realise their true potential. I aspire to create a difference in as many people's lives as I can

Who is your inspiration in life Sonia? How do you keep inspired?

My inspiration is my Mother. She is someone who has always been committed to every aspect of her life, be it her family, her work or her friends. I continue to learn from her, and I aspire to be as competent as her throughout my life

We all make mistakes Sonia; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Fashion Stylist; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.

I have luckily always had good experiences

Sonia, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Fashion Stylist, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?

I always look for assignments and opportunities based on their needs and requirements and customise sessions based on the time that they have to undertake the sessions

Please tell us, Sonia, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Fashion Stylist?

I have worked with people from all walks of life, some of which are CEO's and CFO's from some leading global firms. I've had situations where clients have had unique body shapes and the need to get their clothes customised by also making them understand how to choose their garments right

Sonia, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.

I've faced multiple situations where some of my students undergoing training are very unsure about their true potential or are under confident. I always give them my example of having introspected and started loving myself which helped me evolve as an individual

Sonia, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Fashion Stylist. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?

Besides being featured on radio or television, which for sure are accomplishments, but one of the most amazing experience was when I worked with a software professional who had cleft palate and a hole in his eardrum. I worked on his self-esteem and confidence level, thereby working on his appearance. It was the most fulfilling experience

Sonia, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?

I undertook a session on styling and face shape evaluation along with the right usage of accessories for the women employees of a global firm. I also did an instant makeover for them and ended it with a photo shoot. The difficult part was finishing the whole makeover in an hour for eight women

What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Fashion Stylist?

As much as it is important to know your subject well and get your self-certified, it's essential that you need to be passionate about your field, and make sure that you aim to create a difference in every client's life

Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
