I think the unique compliment I have ever received is that no matter how dark or hard life may get I always hold a positive mindset and energy and I can be a light in someone's life. I hold the impact I have on others live so important, and I always want to be that person to make someone else's day. L
Skylar, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
I started as a model very young because my mom was a photographer. Bring in front of the camera came very naturally to me. I knew it was where I belong and a passion of mine immediately. I aspire to be a print model and social influencer. I want to make a difference in others lives whether that be through a picture or my words.
Who is your inspiration in life Skylar? How do you keep inspired?
My mother has always been my biggest supporter and best friend. The motivation and belief in myself she has given me could never be appreciated enough. She raised me in a very tough situation and still always brought positive energy to me and pushed me to be an amazing woman and be successful for myself. She keeps me inspired along with my drive to make a difference. Seeing all of the negative images and news in the world today inspires me to be that positive image someone sees that can brighten their day and put a smile on their face.
We all make mistakes Skylar; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I don't have too much experience modelling at this point. But I do know that mistakes can happen, and I think the best way to handle a situation would've to understand that it isn't the end of the world. You can sit down and talk through any situation if you give it the time and effort it deserves. I
Skylar, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
I am a very organised person. That has always come very natural to me. I am able to multi-task and always keep track of my priorities very well. I am familiar with the system called “bullet journaling and so far that has worked well for me. If my client base grows I wail adjust my organising techniques always to make sure I am delivering my best work possible to all clients.
Please tell us, Skylar, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
I haven't had to much experience in the modelling industry yet. I have done shoots with my mom that require outfit changes and such that do require a lot of thought and strategy. Sometimes just being in front of the camera in a certain scene can require a lot of thought and strategy. Finding the best pose and the best way to perform well for your specific client can be difficult but very rewarding in the end.
Skylar, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
Working with my mom has made things a little easier for me. But I have worked with another photographer, and I did persuade her to allow me to use music on the set. Music opens me up and makes me much more comfortable in front of the camera. Once the pictures were seen, she understood why I thought it would be helpful and appreciated the suggestion. Sometimes working together with the model and photographer can be very rewarding.
Skylar, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
My proudest accomplishment so far would be being featured in a dance catalogue when I was younger. It was my first time doing a real photo shoot and feeling like a model. It changed my whole perspective and pushed me to pursued modelling. It may not have been the greatest accomplishment per day, but it was the most meaningful in my heart.
Skylar, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I loved working with paint for a photo shoot. It was a very different experience, and I got to use the paint however I wanted. The pictures turned out amazing, and I was able to bring some of my artistic abilities into the shoot, and it paid off.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
I would say never stop believing in yourself. Never let anyone put you down or make you believe you're not good enough. Everyone is different in their beautiful way and confidence is always going to be your best feature.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I prefer working as a print model, but I am very open to any collaborations.
