Taken a leap from the corporate world to the creative world to be a studio owner and professional photographer. Photography has been my long-term hobby and passion for over ten years, and now I have the perfect studio to offer a wealth of opportunity to the individual who wants a set of editorial photographs for their portfolio or a simple portrait session.
I have a wealth of experience from photographing newborn babies, pets and models, including the unique wedding in the summer season.
Our readers would love to get to know you more Siaran. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you, your brand or the services you offer?
Being a female photographer in a male-dominated profession has its advantage sometimes when making clients feel at ease especially someone new to being in front of the camera. I find it easy to build a rapport with clients having worked in the customer service industry for many years too.
I love to be creative with lighting in the different areas of the studio but also enjoy using the crisp white background of the large infinity cove I have.
I enjoy working on projects with clients to achieve the most creative images for their portfolio, by listening carefully to their needs and expectations and working at their pace to get the best from them too.
Siaran, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Photographer?
My passion has always been in photography starting off with landscapes as a hobby and stress reliever from my corporate job developing into model photography.
As a new professional photographer and studio owner, I aspire to work with as many models and photographers to create some fantastic pieces of art.
Who is your inspiration in life Siaran? How do you stay inspired as Photographer?
Maybe a little cliche but the models I work with are my main inspiration as I love a great studio session with a good model. Lindsey Adler for her creative lighting inspires me to think more outside the box when it comes to a project.
We all make mistakes Siaran; we wish we could take back. What was the error you made in the past that you want to you can bring back?
Not getting into this career sooner as it provides such variety to my day/week and I enjoy meeting fellow creatives.
Siaran, How do you describe yourself regarding working with clients?
Relaxed and fun but equally professional.
Please tell us Siaran, how do you prioritise work, social life, friends, and family?
Oh, that's a challenging one to answer as a newly self-employed photographer......... I try to keep a right balance but try and stay as flexible as I can to make the most of my photography opportunities. It helps that my mother, daughter and partner also love photography.
Siaran, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
A little girl didn't want her photo taken, and I managed to persuade her by getting her to look through my camera and pressing the button to take pictures of her brother and then saying she had to let him do the same!
Siaran, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Photographer.
A model using my photos to promote themselves
Siaran, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or challenging about it?
Working with other photographers on a projector project gave me the ability to do a more unusual kind of photography but trying to create something different to the others was challenging.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Photographer?*
Marketing and getting your work out there, as word of mouth is one of the keys to success.
Are you interested to be referred to our private clients from the US, UK, Europe, Japan, Singapore, South Korea and Hong Kong? Are you able to travel for work?
Now for the best part Siaran! Please upload 5-10 photos so we can get to see your work.
