I am a fifteen-year-old emerging music artist that goes by the stage name of Rodin' Flash. I produce mainstream EDM music using Ableton Live, and I am also an aspiring actor with plans to break out in the entertainment industry. In June of 2015, I released my debut EP, called the Royal EP, which consisted of five songs, and contained Ready to Rumble. Since then, I continued to show my love and passion by producing a new EP which came out on December 10, 2015. I released my third EP on March 19, 2017, with vocals featuring singers like Three Guests, Ruben Hultman, HTHaze, Jared Halley, and more! Me, and over 20K followers on Instagram, I am a multi-talented artist who is sure to win over audiences. I am consistently on ReverbNation’s Top 10 EDM producer chart and have been recognized on Shazam and Global DJ Rankings. I have been interviewed on blogs, one in particular being Teen Music Insider. In addition, in late 2015, I started my own active online radio show called "The OffRoad Radio," in which I showcased new and rising music artists and producers. The station functioned as part of my record label that gave new artists the opportunity to release their songs on major online platforms, including but not limited to iTunes, Bandcamp, Spotify, Google Play, Amazon, and even more. Some of my brand deals and companies I have worked with include Popular Demand, Daniel Wellington, Vapor, Level State, Goatcase, Johnny Cupcakes, and more. Dylan, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Kid or teenager managed by parents?
I am very passionate about music and enjoy all aspects of music. I started when I was in 5th grade, and I fell in love ever since producing electronic dance music. A year ago, I started social media, and I quickly gained a tiny following that has helped my music gain publicity as well
Who is your inspiration in life Dylan? How do you keep inspired?
I am inspired by hardworking individuals, including Macklemore, Jake Miller, Jon Bellion, and many others. I stay inspired by working hard and seeing how others are growing, and it keeps me motivated.
We all make mistakes Dylan; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Kid or teenager managed by parents; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
One time where I should have handed a situation differently was when I got upset because I couldn't get into a party that all my friends were invited to. Rather than walk away, I took the blame on the people who worked for the company hosting the event; but I should have been the better person and simply left.
Dylan, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Kid or teenager managed by parents, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
I go by the motto: give 110% percent. I go above and beyond when I am told to do something, and I prioritise other's needs over mine.
Please tell us, Dylan, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Kid or teenager managed by parents?
Every day after school, I am faced with a hard decision on prioritising my time balancing homework, music, acting, and all my other projects going on. I put school above everything, and from there I prioritise my other activities based on the deadline.
Dylan, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way to work successfully.
A time I was able to persuade someone to see things my way is during one of my sponsorship deals, which was with a shirt company. I was able to persuade the company to work with me to collaborate on a shirt design, which became my merchandise, and together, we were able to make it successful.
Dylan, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Kid or teenager managed by parents. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
One of my proudest accomplishments was the first gig I ever got to perform at in Chicago. I did a 15-minute set opening for major social media stars and, despite the fact that there were some struggles in the process that had to do with management, I was able to look past it and put on a great show.
Dylan, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
Anytime I am working on my music; I am able to be creative. As a music producer, I get to show creativity and talent through my music. As the song builds from start to finish, I always get excited as the song sounds better and better, and I get super anxious to release it. However, there are always difficulties with finding the right publisher for the song and finding the right sounds and singers for the instrumental of the song.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Kid or teenager managed by parents?
Follow your dreams and never give up. Although this is cliche, last year, I set a goal that I wanted to work on my social media and grow my presence, and that was the first time I ever showed my face in the public's eye. Before then, I was always hidden behind my music. Despite the fact, I accomplished all the goals I had set last year, and am now working on a new set of goals I hope to accomplish.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
