ABOUT
I am not a classical model that you would find in all the beauty series. Photographers, who have worked with me, often tell me that I have remarkable charisma and natural feeling for posing. Together with creative styling ideas it definitively represents my strengths.
Shadow, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
Natural science and nature strongly influence me. Maybe this is exactly the reason why I love melancholic themes so much. Nature represents the overall struggle between life and death. Especially in dark art or fantasy-styled photoshoots, it is possible to depict some of this melancholy. I started as a model quite accidentally when I met an old school friend, who became a photographer. We simply tried some test photos, and that was when I realised that modelling works very well for me and that it is fun.
Who is your inspiration in life Shadow? How do you keep inspired?
As I already described, I am totally in love with natural science and the melancholy of life. Life is an endless source of inspiration.
We all make mistakes Shadow; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I must say, I am very grateful, that I have never experienced any bad while being a Model. The only thing I would have done differently is to be more confident right from the start. More confident in what I am and with what I am doing.
Shadow, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
I am a very practical person. Agreements will be, and appointments will be handled chronologically. Outrageous clients are of course not welcome, but there are some. Anyhow, all clients are treated equally polite and have to wait until it is their turn.
Please tell us Shadow, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
You have to be strategic all the time, especially when being a Model is not your first profession. It is all about the right timing!
Shadow, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
So far, all self-organised photoshoots and free works are a result of successful persuasions. Model and photographer work together on the implementing of a creative idea.
Shadow, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
I remember one photoshoot ( a diva series, style of the 30s, 40s &50s movie and Broadway stars) when the photographer told me that it always takes one person believing in you to be recognised. And he was right!
Shadow, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I constantly need to be creative with my work since photography is a creative process. It only starts to become difficult when you meet photographers who have no own ideas, and you have the feeling of copying yourself from time to time.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
First of all, be careful! Many people call themselves a photographer or a model scout. Never pay money first without any serious service in return. Always take somebody with you. If you have a bad feeling, stay away from this person.Know exactly what you want and more importantly what you do not want! Let never anybody else change your mind or put pressure on you.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I am always looking for creative minds to work with. Designers, make-up artists and photographers are always warmly welcome to contact me.
