I love makeup. I love to work for Fadhion Shows, weddings and swert 16 parties. Pienso que el mundo del maquillaje es ilimitado. Puedes ser creativo. Amo resaltar la belleza de cada persona.
Sandra, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Make-up Artist?
My passion is to be able to create through the colors and brushes. My history is written in questions above.
Who is your inspiration in life, Sandra? How do you stay inspired as a Make-up Artist?
I admire Kevin Aucoin cause the way he thinks about the art of makeup. I admire Mrs. Dany Sanz, from Makeup Forever. She is an amazing woman and artist.
We all make mistakes, Sandra; we wish we could take back. What was the mistake you made in the past that you wish you can take back?
I.ve learned a lot through my mistakes, but if I can go back, I think I will dedicate more time to my two first children. As my husband passed away, I used to work during the day in a Bank, and after the Bank, I worked as News Presenter ina local TV Channel in La Vega, Dominican Republic.
Sandra, How do you describe yourself in terms of working with clients?
I like honesty above all. Sometimes I look like very estrict...it was the way my parents educated me, but I am very human, hardworking. I do not forgive myself the irresponsibility. I respect the time of others. I prefer to give something extra to my customer...i NEED to feel my client pleased.
Please tell us, Sandra, how do you prioritize work, social life, friends, and family?
I try to make a balance...and I do. We do...my husband and me. First, my family, them my work... I do not do much social life... I prefer to stay with my family...i.d like to spend more time with my church brothers. But after work nothing better for me than to be with my family...we love to be together
Sandra, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
I don.t remember a time. I think people have the right to see things by themselves.
Sandra, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Make-up Artist.
It was a dew skin make up I did to a model. It was soooo glossy...shine...a makeup no make that I love it.
Sandra, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
It was a spring dew make up. A lot of colors mixed and clean skin. Love it. It was exited. We took the pictures in a park, and they were lovely. I remember I planned to make a different look, but when I saw her skin, I inspired me to do a rainbow colors makeup.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Make-up Artist?
To be focused on what they want. Is not about the best school...is about you...try to be you..to create as your inspiration. And as Kevin Aucoin says in his book MAKING FACES, "the rules and words as NEVER and ALWAYS were and are dure death for creativity" new and exciting ideas are most often created when changes are taken, and RULES are BROKEN.
I try to use good skincare in my customer's faces.
I talk with my customer before applying products...and learn about him or her.
Punctuality, good skincare
Look positive and secure
A good looking clean kit
And I always, always pray before to start working.
Practice, practice, and more practice...
