I have always been super interested in acting since I was a kid. I would be obsessed with watching television shows and movies and studying how each actor delivered a line or emoted during a scene. It was something that I knew I wanted to do and learn as a creative outlet and to pursue as a career. The same goes for modelling. I feel as if modelling is like acting in still print. You become a different character for each shoot, and you can portray whatever emotions you want during the session. I love both acting and modelling, and I hope one day to be able to make a career out of both of them.
Our readers would love to get to know you more Samantha. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you, your brand or the services you offer?
I'm not the typical looking 'California girl' with blonde hair or big lips. When I was a kid, I would be very self-conscious about having pale skin and red hair, but now I feel as if they are my strongest defining features that make me stand out.
Samantha, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
I love movies and television and acting in general. I have always found it so amazing to watch actors be able to bring these powerful emotions out and make the audience feel it through their performance. I am incredibly passionate about making films and creating characters that I want to bring to life. The same can be said with modelling. I started modelling because it was another outlet for getting to create characters because each shoot I get to be someone different whether it's sexy, sweet, or flirty. It's all creative and all were entertaining for me.
Who is your inspiration in life Samantha? How do you stay inspired as Model?
My mom is my inspiration. She has always had a 9-5 job trying to support my family and me while trying to make ends meet. She taught me how to survive and stay strong even in the most desperate situations. I continue to remain inspired by modelling because I love creating art whether it be in print or film.
We all make mistakes Samantha; we wish we could take back. What was the error you made in the past that you want to you can bring back?
It's not necessarily a mistake as much as regret. I wish I had more confidence in my ability to act and model when I was younger instead of thinking I couldn't do it. I would have come out to California earlier and maybe been a little further in my career.
Samantha, How do you describe yourself regarding working with clients?
I'm very professional and pleasant to be around. I work hard and make sure that the client gets the images or takes what they want and envisioned. I also love to keep a confident and happy environment.
Please tell us, Samantha, how do you prioritise work, social life, friends, and family?
Family comes first and foremost in my life. However, because I live across the country from my family, work comes first. I would instead get some extra sleep and make sure I look refreshed than go out with friends the night before a shoot. I am very driven, and I'm willing to do the work necessary, and that means making some sacrifices. However, I do make sure to leave room for my friends and social life as well because everything needs a bit of balance.
Samantha, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way to work successfully.
I just explained to them that a particular method of doing things was a little less active and that we should try something new, giving them an example on how it would help us improve and they agreed.
Samantha, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model.
I don't consider myself a professional model; I'm just starting out. However, I feel like taking the step forward into trying to get into the industry is a huge accomplishment.
Samantha, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or challenging about it?
I had the opportunity to shoot a straightforward black and white moody-type shoot, and I decided to buy some lacy bunny ears and make it very boudoir and sexy right before Easter which turned the shoot into something completely different but unique and fun.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?*
Take work that doesn't pay to build your portfolio and make as many contacts with photographers as you can. Moreover, create your social media.
