Fashion need not be too unique or expensive, but just something that reflects our personality and comfort level which will make you stand simply unique is my fashion funda.
Rucha, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Fashion Stylist?
I never had this subject of fashion styling as part of my education course. But once randomly out of nowhere I did my first saree drape and started to play along with it which made me realise I love to drape and go with the flow of any fabric. And then and there it all began.
Who is your inspiration in life Rucha? How do you keep inspired?
I don't look out for any single fashion icon as my inspiration but always observe and take the good work happening around me. And any fine and fabulous work inspires me to work in that direction.
We all make mistakes Rucha; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Fashion Stylist; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
Yes, I did. Not just once but many times, I m a beginner and also a fresher. I have missed a record to follow up with my client requirement. I had used my designed garment from my workplace, and then I returned it without ironing it. I apologised and also worked on my mistakes. I got criticised for my careless approach, and I took it as a lesson. Just knowing fashion and style statement is not enough. You should be careful and concerned about all small tasks and management coming with it.
Rucha, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Fashion Stylist, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
Yes, it can be confusing and complicated at times. But you need to attend every client personally and also patiently. Every client is a priority, and that is where you need to apply your multi-tasking skills, and client handling should be done with proper attention and concern.
Please tell us Rucha, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Fashion Stylist?
Yes, when you are a fresher or a beginner in any field, you cannot rush into anything and need to take time and manage things. I always plan it and jot it down about my steps to be taken a right from research to marketing and promotion. My top priorities as fashion stylist are the fabrics and trims and accessories I use for styling should be used for multipurpose. Should be flexible. Should be used uniquely in a different style, pattern.
Rucha, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
When I started working, I never knew what I was good at, but I figured it out when I was experimenting with the unusual drapes to style up and when my friends and folks first appreciated my work and also when I got selected and appreciated because of my work when conceptual draping shoots.
Rucha, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Fashion Stylist. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
Truly speaking I haven't had many of such moments being a beginner in this field but when my owner, my boss asks me to handle some work individually or give me the opportunity to work on completely by myself it shows their trust in me and their appreciation. It makes me feel confident and more focused because of the responsibility I take over. And it has happened many times for me.
Rucha, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
In styling also you need to explore and experiment to know what you are good at and what you have a vision for. And finding that sense is exciting and difficult at the same time.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Fashion Stylist?
One should be passionate about it. It is a creative field so have to keep patience and keep trying. And yes, experiment with everything and anything, and you will get something worth.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
Yes, I would like to collaborate and interact with fashion stylist and designers and bloggers to reach out with my work with them for marketing and promotional activities of my work.
