Rosaplease tell us your talent/work rate per hour?
I don't have a rate yet
Two days ago I turned 15 years old. It is still summer vacation, but in about a week I'm going to grade 3 of our local Christian MAVO; that's a school. That school takes four years. When I have graduated, I'm going to another school, the HAVO, for two more years. After I graduate there too, I plan to go to College. I hope to be submitted to the Prince Claus Conservortaire; the academy of music. I want to study singing and piano there. If I didn't get submitted there, I would like to go to the Academy of Fashion in Amsterdam. I have many hobbies. Like singing and piano (obviously), but also being a model, writing stories, drawing, photography, painting, theatre and doing all sorts of art. I guess my talents are in those same areas. When I was three years old, I started modelling for some US webshops who sold Dutch children clothing like Oilily and Jottum. I sent boxes full of Oilily and Jottum clothing, and my photographer made photo's of me wearing them. That was great! It lasted until I was about six years old. Recently I picked the modelling up again though, as I have always remembered how much I liked it. And I have always had a fascination and passion for fashion, so there are several reasons why I really, really would love to become a fashion model. Not for children clothing anymore though, as I would rather model with women clothes now. I have photo shoots often now, and I love it! I feel honoured too, wearing clothes from famous brands. I'm a normal teenager too though, as I love the girl band Little Mix a lot too. I had a meet and greeted with them last fall, and I am still in awe...
Our readers would love to get to know you more Rosa. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?
I am extremely creative, and I have a huge phantasy. That's unique about me. When you walk with me on the streets or where ever, you can expect the strangest questions, because I am always trying to see things differently. In my head, the stories grow, and then I write them down or tell someone about it. That's unique about me...
Rosa, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Kid or teenager managed by parents?
I started as a three year old when my mother had a webshop with children clothing. First I modelled for her shop, but then through her relations, I started modelling for other shops too. I don't remember it all as I was three years old, but I do remember it was pretty exciting! I think my passion for fashion started there and then. I have a passion for many things though. For fashion, but also for drawing, for singing, for Little Mix, and for music in general. And I like spotting vintage cars with my mom.
Who is your inspiration in life Rosa? How do you keep inspired?
The fashion itself keeps me inspired, as fashion always changes. There is always something new going on. I like following the trends. But I'm also inspired by singers. Like Little Mix. They often wear great clothing too...
We all make mistakes Rosa; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Kid or teenager managed by parents; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I didn't have colleagues. My mother managed it all, and she still does, so the decisions are hers mostly. She asks me what I want too, but especially in the past, she made all decisions.
Rosa, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Kid or teenager managed by parents, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?
My mother manages those things, so I don't have to prioritize yet. But I do have to think about what I want of course. And lately, it is necessary, because I get strange requests. So many photographers have asked me to model lingerie or topless the last months, and I think I am too young for that. I do have to think about what is appropriate though each time...
Please tell us, Rosa, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Kid or teenager managed by parents?
I don't have real modelling jobs yet. But I do have to think about what my priorities are in the requests I receive. I do want to be taken seriously, and I do want to be able to say "no". But it is hard, because what if all teenage models pose lingerie? And I don't like that yet, but what if it is part of the job? I have to be strategic, but I don't know how yet at the moment...
Rosa, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
Well, a few weeks ago a photographer wanted me to pose topless with a car in front of me. I was 14 years old then. I said a photo of me with a white dress and a car would be much nicer. And he agreed in the end...
Rosa, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Kid or teenager managed by parents. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
I think there are two memories. Yesterday I was chosen to be in the Hopscotch modelling magazine. That was a moment I was thrilled. I have never been in a magazine yet! OMG! But when I was four years old, I was asked to model for the Jottum Rembrandt Collection. The painter Rembrandt was born 500 years ago, I think, or something like that. Anyway, there was this very expensive clothing range that was inspired by the clothing Rembrandt painted 500 years ago. Lots of dresses and coats, and they were so expensive. I was allowed to wear them all, and I still remember how pretty I felt and how scared my mom was I would tear or ruin those dresses...
Rosa, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
My photographer always asks me where we can do photoshoots. So we often cycle through town in search of inspiring places. Often I am the one who finds them.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Kid or teenager managed by parents?
I have given this advice to my younger brother too, as he wants to be a model too. When he is tired, he doesn't want collab very well with the photographer. When he is grumpy, you can see it on all photo's. I think that is my advice at the moment. A kid model should try and learn how to ignore emotions when you're doing a photoshoot. You shouldn't see your emotions on a photo....
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I would like to collab with large famous brands like Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger and Converse Allstars, but I would also like to collab with small(er) Dutch brands. I am Dutch, and I think it is a good thing to help new brands from your own country. Like Scotch & Soda; I like that brand.
Now for the best part Rosa! Please upload 5-10 photos so we can get to see your work.
