I am a former Miss Indiana and have competed in various beauty pageant throughout my life. After earning my crown, I went on to compete in Orlando, Florida at nationals and placed third runner-up. I love to promote self-confidence towards everyone who has a dream they wish to achieve.
Robyn, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
I started as a model at the age of fifteen. It all started with a dream that I wanted to make a reality. After constantly auditioning and going to open calls, I was signed with LModelz agency in Indianapolis, Indiana. My passion is to become a successful model and also a role model to those who have the same passion and drive as I have.
Who is your inspiration in life Robyn? How do you keep inspired?
I keep inspired by those around me. I look up to all the models I have worked with and learned from everything they can teach me. Not only do I look up to other models, but I also look up to everyone else I meet in life. You never know where someone has been and what you may learn from them.
We all make mistakes Robyn; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
To be honest, I wish I would ask more questions. Back when I was younger and started competing in pageants and meeting other models, I wish I would have taken the time to learn more about them and ask as many questions as I could to better myself as a person and model. I learned from that mistake, and now I learn as much as I can from those around me.
Robyn, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
I always put my clients' needs before mine and strive to provide my material with the best I can. I study my clients' previous work, so I am prepared to deliver myself in my best possible way.
Please tell us, Robyn, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
There are many times that I am called to a shoot at 5, or 6 am for hair and makeup. I always prepare everything I need the night prior and take as much time as I need to get everything together.
Robyn, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
I wouldn't necessarily say I have persuaded someone to see things my way. I always try to take my ideas and mesh them with my clients' ideas. I take as much time as I can to make our ideas one solid unit.
Robyn, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
My proudest moment as a model was making the Hooters Calendar for the first time in 2015. I have been going to the restaurant since I was a baby with my family and it was always a family tradition. Since then, I started working there to help me through college and decided to audition for the calendar while I was away at school. I drove 5 hours to go to the audition early in the morning and drove 5 hours back the same day to make it to my college courses on time. When I got the call that I made the calendar, I was so unbelievably proud of myself for going. And now I am going on my third year of being Hooters Calendar girl.
Robyn, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I recently worked with a photographer from Chicago who let me chose all my outfits and looked for the shoot. It was so fun being able to put together my ideas while the photographer placed me in his locations to transform a whole new idea. We worked well together and used our ideas as one.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
My advice to any aspiring model is to be themselves. There are so many stereotypes of models that I wish didn't exist. We all have our bodies and our beauty, and that's what we should showcase. My advice would be not to let anyone tell you to change because we are who we are.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I am always looking to collaborate with other artists. I love doing new things and pushing myself to try different ideas. I'm always looking for more editorial work and high fashion shoots.
