I am an introvert by nature. I am independent. I can visualise a dream or a fantasy and make them come to life.
I love helping people in any way I can. I love to volunteer in my community. I work well with Global and Local mission groups.
I have an eye for marketing and advertising. I have a creative way to write and use words to my advantage.
I am a hopeless romantic. My whole being is unique.
Raquel, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Blogger?
I begin writing when I was in grade school. I kept a journal of special events and activities. After my husband passed, I begin to travel. Travelling open my eyes to life and travelling open my heart to love again. After a year of traveling, I started blogging. I have inspirational quotes and short stories along with my original photography of places I have travelled.
Who is your inspiration in life Raquel? How do you keep inspired?
God’s love is my inspiration. My new fiancé is also my inspiration. Travelling keeps me inspired. It keeps me young at heart.
We all make mistakes Raquel; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Blogger; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
In love and relationships, one can be very vulnerable. We can open our hearts to trust others but often that trust is broken, and it can be hurtful sometimes. In love, we feel the need to test the loyalty of others and what you may discover is that they may or may not be as loyal as you thought or hoped. I tested someone’s loyalty and was disappointed they would not pass the test I gave them. With that test, I had to confess that I tested them, they were disappointed in me as well. The lesson learned is if you don’t trust them, take action or responsibility and do not try to test the other person because if they fail, you will need to confront them and both will be disappointed or heartbroken.
Raquel, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Blogger, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
I review these three key items,: what is it that you want to create, can you make a plan and can you get the plan executed. If they can answer these three important questions, they are my priority.
Please tell us, Raquel, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Blogger?
I built my blog. I am the boss. I blog at my leisure, I respond to my reader’s emails, and I have great perks for my followers. My followers and the content I deliver are my top priorities.
Raquel, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
After working in non-profit for 20 years, the organisation has had some restraints on spending money. However, I have to speak up for those who don’t have a voice. I asked the CAO to consider giving the administrative assistants a raise or a bonus because although we are not in management making six figures, we also have families to care for. Our gifts of administration are just as important as management. They gave us the rise and or bonuses we deserved.
Raquel, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Blogger. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
My proudest moment is self-publishing my second book called The Love Experience. I wanted to quit and pay someone to write this book for me, but I did not give up. I kept going. The skills I have to self-publish only enhanced my ability to deliver the results. My goal is to be able to help someone else do the same.
Learning to maximise your potential is never-ending.
Raquel, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
After I lost my husband of 14 years, I was grieving. I began to start reading a lot of quotes by famous people.
I thought to myself. I can be creative and write my quotes. I can create content with my design and start posting them on my Instagram and my blog. The idea to write the book came from my blog. I had created some much content; I was able to use my creativity and self-publish my second book. The exciting part was building the characters and the storyline. The difficult part was finding an audience to sell it to.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Blogger?*
My advice to anyone who wants to be a successful blogger is to use correct grammar and be as accurate as possible at all times. To use something unique and add their personality or style to their blog. Keep it authentic and continue to write positive content and to continue to teach others what they have learned.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I am looking for collaborative work with talented artists, brands, and other creative artists. Specifically within the travel industry. I feel it is extremely important for people to believe they can travel and can learn how to travel because visiting and experiencing other cultures is one of the best learning experiences.
Also a health and wellness brand I am excited about collaborating with because our health is vital to living.
