Ralf Erlinger's fashion and beauty photography is an atmospheric journey. His unique studio work creates minimalistic, artificial worlds and his fashion documentations preserve intimate moments with his sensitive style.

Our readers would love to get to know you more Ralf. Tell us about yourself, why you are passionate about what you do, and your journey so far.
I am always looking for beauty, and I am always evaluating the concept of beauty for my work. I love hiking and being in natural environments. I read a lot to get inspired as much as I watch movies.

Keep interviewing me!

What are your goals and how do you see yourself progressing in the field Ralf?
I am not looking for a specific style or a specific client. I want to share moments with creative people, create beauty and give something of myself to every picture.

How do you communicate with people Ralf? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements?
I am always open for the client's needs; I talk a lot about them and the models. Professional photography is as much art as it is a process of many people with professional talents. Trust your team and your clients, and you will not fail.

If you had to do it over again, what would you change Ralf?
I guess I would not try to fight alone. I enjoy the people I work with a lot, and so I would have loved to have found them earlier.

Who is your hero Ralf, and how have they helped you get to where you are?
Helmut Newton is an incredible photographer that influenced my work from the very beginning. Its all about strong female characters!

Vermeer is definitely a hero when it comes to soft lighting and silent portraits that make you dive into the eyes of the model.

How important are creative education courses Ralf? Have you taken any, and did you find them useful?
I studied at the university of applied sciences in Darmstadt, Germany. It was a great school to be a photographer, and I found a professor that understood and encouraged my work. I also met a lot of great designers, illustrators and photographers that are now friends and always an inspiration.

Do you have any tips for someone who is just starting out in the industry?
Make mistakes, be open minded, know why you do what you do.

Please add any photo credits for the photos you uploaded so that everybody can get recognised.
