I love creating since I was a kid. I always work on DIY projects when I have free time. So art and crafts have always been my passion.
I studied Textiles Science and Technology at the University, including fashion and design.
Doing makeup is another form of art that I fell in love with after I started to learn by myself. Every time I look into the magazines, I always stare at the model’s face on each page and analyze the looks to see how to make it.
I finally went to beauty school and graduated from Nina Mua in New York City. I got makeup artist certificate and hairstyling for makeup artist certificate. After graduating, I have been creating the photo shoots to build my portfolio. I love it so much, and I want to do it every day. I get to work with professional photographers and learn so much from them.
Beside that I learn from the clients, they all have different preferences. But at the end, they feel confident in their beauty.
To be a makeup artist is my dream job that I would love to do it for the rest of my life.
Our readers would love to get to know you more Pent. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?
I love to learn, and I can do them all. I can do makeup, hair, styling, design, sew the dresses, and cook for everyone!
Pent, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Make-up Artist?
I love when I do makeup either on myself or someone else's face. It's just like you create beautiful art on a canvas. And every time I look into a magazine, it always inspired me and made me want to be part of it to create those beautiful pictures.
Who is your inspiration in life Pent? How do you keep inspired?
Everyone around me always inspired me. They are all unique, so I learn every day from everyone that I've seen.
We all make mistakes Pent; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Make-up Artist; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
So far I am still handling well.
Pent, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Make-up Artist, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?
It depends on their event. Of course, all of them are important, but if it's a wedding, I will give it as a priority because it's one thing of their lifetime. Or a big project that I wouldn't miss the opportunity. And I would help them find someone to work for them if I can't do it.
Please tell us Pent, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Make-up Artist?
I managed to go on a different schedule in one day, it was stressful, but it worked.
Pent, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
I tried to explain to a client that the look that she wanted might not look good on her by showing her pictures and gave her a suggestion.
Pent, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Make-up Artist. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
When the pictures came out so beautiful, and everyone loves them! And I am the one who did makeup, hair, styling, made all the dresses.
Pent, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
When I can do a crazy the look that I want for fashion, so I don't have to worry that I will scare my client away. So I can get all my creativity and put on my canvas.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Make-up Artist?*
Love what you do.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I would love to collaborate with all kind of artists and projects. I will be looking forward to it!
