Our readers would love to get to know you more Onkar. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?

Physically speaking, I have an incredibly unique look that hasn't been seen in the industry before. My roots trace to Punjab, India but my people originate from the Middle East, and it gives me a very exotic look that allows me to pass from anything from Greek, to Egyptian, all the way to Indian. But I'm not just all looks, I'm a UCLA graduate and used to be a high school teacher before I stepped into the world of modelling. I'm a compassionate, caring individual that has a lot to offer the industry- so my hope is to not only trailblaze a path where no other Indian has gone, but to also inspire my fans to step into their greatness and do the same.

Onkar, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?

My passion is to be the best individual that I can be-- I strive to push myself every single day in every single aspect of me. I push towards perfection every day, mastering progression day in and day out. Through this constant work on myself, I hope to inspire others to constantly do the same. I started as a model by initially working on my body and getting more into fitness-- that gave me the confidence to say "you know what? I'm powerful, sexy, beautiful-- I CAN DO THIS!"

Who is your inspiration in life Onkar? How do you keep inspired?

My inspiration in life is my own journey and knowing how far I've come-- that motivates me to keep going. I have made so much progress in all aspects of my life, and I know I've only scratched the surface. I even get emotional thinking about how far I've come, and I'm really proud of myself for creating the life that I've created for myself and that pushes me just to keep going!

We all make mistakes Onkar; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about a time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
Because I'm such an ambitious individual, I can also be a bit impatient. My impatience leads me to almost force things sometimes, and recently I was with an agent, and I felt the need to impress him, and I got ahead of myself and definitely overstepped my boundaries. Had I just been patient, I would have taken a step back and allowed myself to grow into the person he knew I could be, rather than act like someone I was not. Very important to stay true to yourself!

Onkar , when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?

Well, I make sure that I always stick to the motto of quality over quantity-- I would not take on more than I could handle, and definitely, would not want to jeopardise quality. So time management is key, and self-care is also key because if I'm not taken care of, I can't perform at my best.

Please tell us Onkar, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Model?

Moving to New York was very strategic because the moment I got here, I hit the ground running because I did not want to waste a single breath. I began attending casting calls, and two weeks later, I was already in one of the biggest Fashion Week shows here in New York in Men's Fashion Week! At the same time, I continued working on my body to get the shredded look I love having-- which includes keeping your mind, body, and diet on point as well! So again, it was my commitment to myself that I am the very best that I can be and that allowed me to push myself to get to where I am. I'm signed with a mother agency at the moment and will be with one of the top male modelling agencies in the next few weeks!

Onkar, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
So far as a model, I've had to basically persuade big agents and managers that investing in me is the right move to make. I do that by showing my commitment to the craft and showing how dedicated I am-- I moved to New York to model and model alone, I came here to make it, and I will not accept anything less than that. By making this point, I was able to convince my mother agent to invest in me; to take me on and develop me because I was the right person to invest in.

Onkar, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
My proudest accomplishment to date is walking in one of New York Men's Fashion Week's biggest shows this past week. I believe that all of the shoots, the work-outs, the development and investment I've put into myself collectively prepared me for the place that I am at right now. I came to New York not to grow into a successful model, but one that was prepared to step into his greatness!

Onkar, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I believe that every time I step in front of the camera, I am allowed to bring out my creativity. It's difficult sometimes being 100% yourself in front of people that you hardly know, but it's also exciting because I know that I am making huge progressions with it. Anything that is difficult at first is exciting to work on because nothing feels better than knowing I'm getting good at something I once found difficult!

What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?

Be yourself. Be consistent. Be open to feedback and keep working on your craft! Don't let someone else tell you you're not worthy!

Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I'm looking to collaborate with luxury brands to do fashion shows and campaigns for their upcoming lines. I'm also looking to step into acting so videographers that are interested in shooting fitness videos and model teasers should contact me. From there, I'd like to start working on shorts!

Now for the best part Onkar! Please upload 5-10 photos so we can get to see your work.
