Very positive and outgoing person.
Nikki, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
To live a happy and healthy life. I started modelling after high school, I had friends taking photography classes, and they would always use me as their subject. And I just got stuck ever since. It was always a passion when I was younger; Mom called me a ham when I was younger. I always was such a cheeser.lol
Who is your inspiration in life Nikki? How do you keep inspired?
To stay positive and surround myself, like-minded individuals. Stay focused on my goals and always strive for more.
We all make mistakes Nikki; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I was working on a music video, and there were a lot of models from all over. A lot of them were not very nice, so I got into it with one of them. I should have just turned the other way, but you live, and you learn. I was a lot younger back then, and things change.
Nikki, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
I always make sure I stay focused, being organised is key. I’m always early to my shoots and pack the night before so I’m not rushing to find a wardrobe.
Please tell us, Nikki, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
Had to wake up every morning at 4 to work out and make sure I kept up with my workout routine. If you stay healthy and active, you have nothing to worry about.
Nikki, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
I was at a workshop, and there was about 15 Photographers, one, in particular, was asking the models to do some weird poses and jump like the high school musical. Models would try and skip working with him when it was his turn. I just politely told him sorry that’s not going to work. A lot of the models were either in high heels or boots. Just wasn’t the time and place.
Nikki, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
It was a probably a year after I had my first daughter and I thought for sure I was going to be back into modelling because of the competition and limited time I had. But I got a call back for an ink book. And I went out to Vegas to shoot for it, and I made the cut. I was featured, and it was internationally published. Was super juiced that I pushed my self to continue with it.
Nikki, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
We had a team of Makeup artists, hairstylists, and models shooting for a dark beauty Smokey shoot. We had to float in this 3ft shallow inflatable pool that was freezing and was during the winter time. And of course, we had to be in tube tops and swim bottoms. And behind us was a smoke machine. So you had to hold your breath while they blew the smoke towards you and then submerge your whole body in the pool, but pop your head up. It was very interesting to shoot; the images turned out amazing. I don’t think anyone knew how we did it.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
Always, Always make sure they have a website or proof of work. And check references. And have fun, be yourself!
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
Always looking for brands and creative people to collaborate with. I love nature settings and anything involved with fitness and nutrition.
