As I do not earn all my money through photography, I do not have to do shoots I don't want to do. I do what I like, and that is what my pictures show. No two pictures are the same, and I get better every shoot.

Niels, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as Photographer?

I started doing photography just 4 Years ago, with my education to be a Photography Assistant. From that point, I developed an own way to work and to take the pictures I wanted to take.

Who is your inspiration in life Niels? How do you stay inspired as a Photographer?

My inspiration is the Models I shoot with. In most cases, these Models are part of the creative process. I plan every shoot in close teamwork with my models, and I think that is something that makes my pictures unique.

We all make mistakes Niels; we wish we could take back. What was the mistake you made in the past that you wish you can take back?

Hard Question. There are many things I wish I could take back. Mostly that are things I said to ones I love, which I regret since then.

Niels, How do you describe yourself in terms of working with clients?

I develop everything in a new way for every job. I work closely with customers and models to find the exact right style for every shoot.

Please tell us, Niels, how do you prioritise work, social life, friends, and family?

Finding the Balance between this point is pretty hard. Between long work days, shoots on weekends, the university and my friends, there is not much time left. I use all the time I have gone with friends and family, as they compensate my full calendar.

Niels, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.

There are two ways an argument at work can end. One way is that I realise i was wrong and that I change my opinion myself. When I am right, I am mostly able to show people why I think, what I think. When it comes to my pictures, it's mostly enough to show them the screen on my camera to persuade them I was right with what I said.

Niels, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Photographer.

I am the proudest when a Model gets their pictures, and their eyes start to shine. That is the most amazing feeling about being a photographer.

Niels, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?

Being in a location I was never before made me creative all the time. I like to discover new perspectives, styles of different natural lighting and how to interact with one specific model. It's hard to shoot with people I don't know because it's hard to show how they are if I don't even know that myself

What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Photographer?

Just try. Practise. But first, do a bit of theory. Learn how Aperture and Exposure times work together and then Practise. It doesn't matter which camera you have; it's all about practice.
