I'm a parttime model who worked 32 hours as an architectural designer. In the meantime, I get options and assignments as a commercial model for five years now. In these past few years, I have done a lot of fashion and commercial shoots, especially in the Netherlands. But also a few in Belgium and Germany. In addition to model work, I also do acting. Most of all for casting agencies in TVC and business movies. In order to keep track of the area of acting, I keep up with it by following weekly acting lessons. So if you need an acting model, you can tune me in for your brand or movie in dutch or English. My best feature is that I always keep going where others stop. I believe in what I can, and that will ever be seen and rewarded
Nick, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
My passion in life is an actor in movies and series. But trough my life I learned a lot about acting for the camera. So I started to sign up by several model and casting agency's to do model work for commercial brands. By doing modelling work, I try to make contacts for my higher goal as an actor.
Who is your inspiration in life Nick? How do you keep inspired?
I keep inspired to look at other models who have done good shoots for well-known brands. Every year I want to renew myself as a model for holding different types of test shoots. To keep the model agencies and the clients surprisingly.
We all make mistakes Nick; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
Once I didn't read the contract terms of a shoot. I was very excited about being booked for this shoot, but when I had this shoot, they didn't pay me for the upcoming years what was standing in the contract. It was a hard lesson to read every time carefully a contract.
Nick, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
I'm trying to listen carefully to the customers to quickly switch to the right desired result.
Please tell us, Nick, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
There was a time when I had to prove myself to come to a model agency. Sometimes I did not have the correct pictures, so they did not allow me.Then I must score better pictures in test shoots that de agencies allow me.
Nick, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
For my first acting role in a video clip. I had contact with the producers, and they searched for a good acting model. I was just in a phase that I completed the acting training school. And I had a few action scenes to show on the producer, but after many emails and calls, he eventually booked me for this shoot. I was very excited to be part of this.
Nick, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
My proudest professional shoot is the shoot for fashion brand J.C. Rags. They gave me the opportunity to be the face of the brand. One of the goals that I had was this assignment, and he has become a reality this year.
Nick, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I had a shoot for Cortina bikes, and we had to shoot in busy Amsterdam between the crowd. I had to be focused on the photographer. Otherwise, it couldn't work, and we didn't have great pictures. But I learned of my lessons of the acting training to be focussed and stay in the bubble.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
Believe in yourself; then you will ultimately achieve the goal that you had in mind!
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I will always be open to new developments within the model world. Any contact can open new doors.
