Our readers would love to get to know you more Nia. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?
I've danced for nine years and modelled for two years. I've travelled to 6 countries before the age of 14 in a student ambassador program.
Nia, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
My passion to be able to express me through the arts and give back to my community. I started modelling by just watching Americas Next Top Model.
Who is your inspiration in life Nia? How do you keep inspired?
My inspiration in life is Misty Copeland. I keep my self-inspired each day by watching YouTube videos and following very amazing models on Instagram.
We all make mistakes Nia; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
The night before a shoot I dyed a clients hair. The day of my shoot my hands were completely black, so I was not able to do as much as I wanted to with posing.
Nia, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
Try to prioritise my time and give an equal amount of time to everyone.
Please tell us, Nia, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
I keep a calendar that holds all of my things on it. I check it every morning and make sure I read it thoroughly, so everything goes smoothly throughout my day
Nia, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
I had a concept that I wanted to convey. At first, the videographer didn't understand it but once we got rolling and I had him see things from my point of view he was able to work with me.
Nia, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
When I was able to model my clothing.
Nia, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
The exciting part about creating your work is that it is your work. I can set things the way I want it. It's hard because not everyone will understand your vision so you have to explain it so that they can understand it.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
Don't allow anyone to tell you that you can't do it.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I would love to work with Nike, Forever 21, H&M, Reebok and Puma
Now for the best part Nia! Please upload 5-10 photos so we can get to see your work.
