I am an active duty military personnel currently living in Okinawa, Japan. I am a model but not that experienced. I am also a student studying biology and pre-med. Creativity is something that runs though my body. I would love to work with people who are just as creative as I am and who think outside of the box. I have only dabbled in modeling and I am ready to jump in...all I need is the opportunity. I am extremely hard working and will always give 100% each time.
Our readers would love to get to know you more Nathaniel. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?
I am actually a pretty funny person. I don't take myself to serious unless its about my career and my goals. I am into fitness. People may say I talk too much but I just love being a social butterfly.
Nathaniel, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
My aspiration in life is to be happy. I want to wake up knowing that I am living the best life I can. Modeling has always been a passion of mine since the first season of America's Next Top Model. I used to watch it and think "when is Tyra Banks going to do a season with guys", and by the time she did I had already joined the military. An education is something that I hold dear and even while modeling , I will still attend school.
Who is your inspiration in life Nathaniel? How do you keep inspired?
My grandfather is my biggest inspiration. He is such a go getter and has worked for over 60 years of his life. He is just an amazing man who has taught me so many things from building houses to God. I look up to him so much and I love him dearly.
We all make mistakes Nathaniel, we wish we could take back. Please tell us about a time being a Model , you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I don't really have any negative experiences because I have not been modeling long. I will say that I enjoy networking and making friends but I do think people take that kindness as a weakness. I have met many people who would rather use me than build us both up so I don't open myself up too often.
Nathaniel ,when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?
Being in the military has taught me to prioritize. You have to always remain respectful and professional. Having the courtesy to give people the heads up of other events is a must also. Again, haven't had much experience but I look forward to putting my skills to the test.
Please tell us Nathaniel, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
Well out here in Okinawa, we have restrictions and time restraints on how long we can be off base. So you really have to plan ahead and make sure you are utilizing your time wisely so that you are able to get the job done in a decent amount of time.
Nathaniel, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
Well, the military is a competitive field to go in. It is filled with so many people from many backgrounds, so we are always persuading our superiors to pick us for a task. You just always have to be one step ahead.
Nathaniel please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share to everyone. What is it and why?
One of my proudest moments was when I did my first shoot and I posted one of the pictures on my Instagram. The praise and validation I received from that was amazing. I already think well of myself but to hear sometimes is always helpful.
Nathaniel, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I love when a photographer tells me a theme and then would like me to bring any wardrobe that I may have to fit the theme. I like to consider myself a stylist also. Fashion is just such a big part of our society and its amazing to be apart of it. The exciting thing about doing that is, that you aren't limited to just being in the front of the camera. You provided the clothes and styled yourself so you are enhancing two skills at once.
What advice would you give to the people who wants to be successful as a Model?
I wish I knew. I have not had much success being that I am fairly new but I do think that surrounding yourself with people who are trying to advance both yours and their career is the first step.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
Oh wow. There are so many. Versace, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Cavalli, etc. To work with models like Tyra, Tyson Beckford, Rob Evans, Jessica White, etc. There are so many other brands and talents that I could post. Brands like adidas, nike, champion.
