Our readers would love to get to know you more Nathan. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?
I am a 26-year-old entrepreneur with a deep passion for photography. I am located in Northern California and have been photographing people since the ripe young age of 6. Now, two decades later, I am a professional portrait photographer.
Nathan, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Photographer?
My first camera was gifted to me by my parents at the age of 6. It was a film camera and I quickly learned how to load my own film. Surprisingly, I don't remember a photo not turning out. I've never put the camera down. If I could shoot in my sleep I would.
Who is your inspiration in life Nathan? How do you keep inspired?
Joe Dirt is my inspiration. Life's a garden, dig it.
We all make mistakes Nathan, we wish we could take back. Please tell us about a time being a Photographer, you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
My first wedding was a disaster. If I could go back and change things, I would. I had so many issues. I could go on forever about this one wedding, but all in all, you get what you pay for. At the age of 17, I charged $60 for an entire day of photography.
Nathan, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Photographer, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?
With technology today, I don't find this an issue. I am proud of my customer service!
Please tell us, Nathan, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Photographer?
Weddings take strategy more so than any other day. There are so many styles of photography, so many different people and personalities to deal with, and the pressure... oh the pressure. It's the line that separates the weak photographers from the pros
Nathan, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
Pricing is always a problem. As a photographer, you make something out of nothing. And with the technology of today, it doesn't cost a dime. That being said, if that were completely true, I couldn't change what I do for a portrait session. It's the amount of time spent learning the trade that I justify my prices to clients. How many other people have been perfect there trade for the majority of their life? Not many.
Nathan, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Photographer. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
My first proud moment was when I was selected to advertise for my high school photography show. My photo was selected out of all the photos students work to advertise for the upcoming fundraiser in the newspaper. At the age of 15, it was the coolest event in my career.
Nathan, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
My most recent shoot I was asked to do some more risqué photos. Normally, it's not my specialty. But I took the job anyhow and pushed my limits. I actually was found by this company because of that shoot.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Photographer?
It's not easy, but there's a spot for everyone. Keep practicing and do whatever you need to to make it happen.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands, and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I'm always looking to collaborate. Any persons anywhere in the world can contact me to collaborate.
