I am a Colombian/Canadian model that currently works in the Dallas/Fort Worth area as well as in San Antonio. I was a competitive swimmer for 20 years, and I have always been very athletic. I graduated in 2016 with a bachelors in international business and a minor in fashion management, which is where I realised I wanted to be a model. I also recently graduated with my Master's degree in Finance, and I went to the modelling and talent expo in Dallas where I learned a lot! Finally, I just returned from a mission trip to Tanzania and Kenya where I was helping with economic development programs with women.
Our readers would love to get to know you more Natalia. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you, your brand or the services you offer?
I think that what is unique about me is that I have had the opportunity to travel and live in different countries. I am very open-minded, and I am always thinking of ways to improve myself and help others! I am very easy to work with I love to work with other people, and I like to push my boundaries with photographers and people I work with.
Natalia, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
I would love to travel the world through modelling. I want to be a role model, especially since getting back from my trip to Africa, it has become really important to me to show those women and women around the world to be confident and pursue goals. Through college, I was asked by friends to model for different school projects in the fashion department which is where I discovered my love for modelling.
Who is your inspiration in life Natalia? How do you stay inspired as Model?
Tyra Banks has been a huge inspiration to me because I love how she pushes boundaries. I want to be different and stand out and be that fit/athletic model.
We all make mistakes Natalia; we wish we could take back. What was the mistake you made in the past that you wish you can take back?
I probably would have started with an agency sooner. I tried to be on my own before finding Lari, and I realised how lost I was without her.
Natalia, How do you describe yourself in terms of working with clients?
Through my swimming career, I have learned to take direction and to be very disciplined and hard working. I will work as hard as needed and I strive for perfection. I am also very easy going and friendly so that I will make shoots fun!
Please tell us, Natalia, how do you prioritise work, social life, friends, and family?
Through college, I worked 20 hours a week, trained 30 hours a week, I took a full course load, was president of my honours society, vice president of my sorority and had time for friends and family. I have always been a very time management oriented person so its a matter of planning out your weeks and thinking ahead!
Natalia, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
I think the biggest change I implemented was at my previous job. I had to come up with a way to show my boss that I needed more lifeguards for safety reasons even though he was concerned about the budget. It took me a whole semester to show him why I needed to before he agreed and I brought on six more guards.
Natalia, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model.
My proudest moment was going to the Model and talent expo this past June. Not only did I meet the biggest scouts in the modelling world, but I met Mike Beaty as well.
Natalia, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I think it was one of my first photoshoots with Al Zavala. He knew I was a swimmer and we decided to do a swim shoot, so I out my suit, cap and goggles on and we had a blast. To this day that swim picture is one of my favourites.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?*
It is not easy, and you must be willing to spend a lot of time and money to succeed
