I've trained and modeled for John Casablanca when I was younger. Then I gained a few pounds I was chosen to be apart of Kushions Plus Size Modeling team. I’ve attended andparticipated in numerous fashion shows and photo shoots. I am also a makeup artist for my modeling team. Therefore I am fully aware of how this industry works. I am also a published author in different states. I graduated top of my class in high school and on the road to retreaving my bachelors degree in Business Administrations. When I’m walking down a runway or in a photo shoot not only do i make my best to stand out from others , i try to capture more than one aspect around me.
Meaning i make the clothes and jewelry come to life!.

We all make mistakes Mya , we wish we could take back. Please tell us about a time being a Model , you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
Recently actually a model was quite disrespectful to every other model at the event and talking to us like we were animals and instead of allowing her to disrespect everyone including me i should’ve pulled her to the side to see what was wrong with her or get her some help but i ignored her.
Mya ,when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?
All of my clients needs are important and i start on the models that are ready first which means if i have Model’s that aren’t dressed but wants their makeup done and I have models that are dressed i start on the models that are dressed that way in the time it takes me to do one face they should be almost dressed and i do the other faces accordingly.
Please tell us Mya , about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
I had a photo shoot at a waterfall and my photographer was trying to figure out where to take the last pictures and i suggested that we go to the top of the waterfall and I’ll hang off of the end of the waterfall and the other models came up to join me.
Mya , please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
At our all white bathing suit photo shoot my photographer wanted a different pose and three models had on the same suit i suggested that he split them up and have three models pose on the ground and that was the pose he loved and the pose that was published
Mya please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share to everyone. What is it and why?
My proudest professional moment was when i was apart of my debut and i portrayed my outfit in such a fierce way many people wanted to buy the outfit off of me and it was the highest sold piece for that designer.
Mya , please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
A piece of clothing wasn’t fitting right and we couldn’t figure out how to make it look right and that was the difficult part and then i had the idea to rip the garment and she ripped it and we were very satisfied and now the dress she sales has slits in them and it’s her most selling piece.
What advice would you give to the people who wants to be successful as a Model?
As long as your heart is in it success will come to you. It’s not easy but the effort you put in pays off at the end then it becomes completely worth it
