Motty Lino

Motty Lino
State / Region

I studied business and cookery at Victoria University. I used to work as a chef in Melbourne, and currently working as a freelance model.

I have been in modelling and film/entertainment industry for over six years. I started my career as a model in late 2010 in Indonesia, and now it continues in Melbourne. I have modelled for Kat The Label, Puella Decora Beauty, Body Blendz, Poppy Apparel, Bul Clothing, and other fashion/editorial photoshoots.

I am passionate about modelling, and I can channel many varieties of looks, styles, and personalities. Furthermore, I have the right attitude, experience, and looks to be a successful model. I am always set to work with random schedules and offbeat work-hours. I believe my skills and experiences in modelling/entertainment industry will fit the job description well.

I also have extensive experience in TV industry back in Indonesia in varieties of TV soap operas and advertisements. I have worked as a female actor in supporting roles for two seasons. I'm very much enthusiast in arts performance and thrive in the limelight.

Our readers would love to get to know you more Motty. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?

What is unique about me in a nutshell, in a good way is, that what you see is NOT what you thought you are going to get. Once people get to know me, they will know that I am much more that what is seen on the surface.

I have many traits, characters, and habits that are not perceive 'common'. I don't follow the common thread, and it may surprise you, and it will be the last thing that you will be expected of me. For examples: I love rap music, and I can state every single word of the lyric from my favourite rapper. I have a dream to one day own an animal sanctuary, getting down and dirty, working with animals.

I'm also surprisingly agile and strong for a girl of my size, people often underestimate my stature, and they turn out to surprise how strong I can be. For a girl weight 45kg, I can bench press 100kg of weight.

Motty, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?

I am passionate about helping others/people in need, specifically positively influencing individuals lives. I am looking for an opportunity to align my passion with my long-term career goals.

I started as a model in 2010 when I first approached by a modelling scout during my early TV commercial audition. I was offered to join his modelling agency, and the rest is history.

Who is your inspiration in life Motty? How do you keep inspired?

My inspiration in life is my late mother. She is a strong, brave, and independent single mother. She is a woman with many talents, skills, and hardworking. She can do many things that women usually do (e.g. cooking, arts, beauty) but also she can do things that are stereotypes in a men's world such as building, DIY handyman, and sports. On top of looking after me, she is also responsible for caring for her mother. She is a superwoman, and I look up to her as an inspiration.

She is the perfect motivator and inspiration for me. I only need to reflect and remember all the things that she has achieved in her life for me to continue to be aspired to be not only like her but go beyond her.

We all make mistakes Motty; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I have not experienced a situation where I wish I can take back. All of my modelling experiences have been without a hitch. Thank God.

Motty, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?

To the best of my abilities, I will always try my best to plan for all the event that happens during the day and prepare all the necessary needs for each of the clients. This helps to minimise any harm that arises from an unexpected event.

I prioritise the client's needs by being flexible and try to accommodate their needs and vision as best as I can.

Please tell us Motty, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Model?

I followed a strict regime of diet and exercise to maintain my figure and weight. I also religiously look after my physical beauty and carefully preserved my image as a model.

Motty, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
I am usually able to persuade someone to see things from my point of view by talking politely and keeping a cool head.

I respected people's opinion for them to voice their own. However, I will still have a voice whether to accept or reject their opinion. I will make them known, but I will not enforce my ways over them.

Motty, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
My proudest moment as a model is when I'm able to successfully maintained my composure and patience when I'm shooting in the middle of winter without heating yet I'm only being dressed in a lingerie/underwear products.

Motty, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
Not applicable.

What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?

My advice will be to treat every client and every project as your VIPs.

When they hired you, you need to constantly ask for their feedback and to be open. In situations where they are not satisfied with any particular pose/style/expression that you've done, offer them to redo it until they are satisfied with it, no matter how long it takes.

Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
Yes, the type of collaboration that I'm interested due to the fact I have never done it before is to work with a prestige and unique brands that are the leaders of today's fashion industry.
