I knew I wanted to become a model the minute I saw Gisele Bundchen walk the catwalk for Marc Jacobs back in 2004. I was 13 years old at that time. I started practising my runway walk down the isles of the grocery stores and taking photos of myself on a timer camera. I couldn't wait to sign with an agency! I ended up graduating high school a year early, and right after graduation, I got on a plane to California where I did my first photo shoot for a sportswear brand. Since then I've signed with smaller agencies within Los Angeles, Miami, and New York City. I've been booked a few campaigns, have been featured on advertisement banners, walked in many fashion shows, have been published, and so on. So far I feel like I'm living a dream! I think the key is to be true to yourself, stay humble, be positive, and have a good attitude. I have a very creative mind and a warm heart. I enjoy spending time with my family, and I have many hobbies outside of modelling. I love playing acoustic guitar, singing, dancing, playing chess, learning to cook, and hiking with my German Shepherd "Sasha". I also enjoy reading and studied real estate. I am a licensed sales agent in the state of California. So that's something I can work on, that way I have something to fall back on when I can no longer model years down the road. I released a few iTunes singles for fun as well, and surprisingly many people loved them. So I guess you never know where life will take you! you just have to take the first steps towards everything you want in life, conquer the fear!

Our readers would love to get to know you more Mila. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?
I was born with unilateral hearing loss "completely deaf in my left ear". People who are half deaf usually only hear about 30% of a conversation. Hopefully, that gives you an idea of what it's like. I had trouble learning with hearing children in my early school years but decided to stay in the normal school system. I also had a lisp growing up, and naturally turned to lip reading. I struggle with my deafness every day, but I, however, haven't let deafness keep me from achieving anything!
Mila, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
My passions are family, health, modelling, music, and real estate. I aspire to succeed in every aspect of my life, not just within the modelling industry for example. I want to have successful solid relationships as well. Both business and personal, and I started modelling by replying to a casting.
Who is your inspiration in life Mila? How do you keep inspired?
My inspiration is my boyfriend of 5 years. He's one of those people who made something out of nothing. I keep inspired by knowing that anything is possible if you work for it!
We all make mistakes Mila, we wish we could take back. Please tell us about a time being a Model, you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I had not slept in days, had a bad case of insomnia. An agent who I had been in contact with wanted to sign me. I was so tired that I replied back with almost every word misspelt. I never heard back from them! I wish I would have waited until I got a few hours of rest before replying back instead of being so excited! Lesson learned, big time!
Mila, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?
I keep shoot information organized in a notebook, the bookings on a calendar, and I also make reminders on my phone to contact someone. Once I'm in front of a client I have to give them my attention 100% and forget about the other clients in that moment.
Please tell us Mila, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
I had to be very strategic at my first fashion week experience. I had to move, move, move! I was on the runway for one show, and after that walk had to run to the other side of the building to walk on another runway for another show! I've learned to pay very close attention to everything that's going on!
Mila, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
I was shooting with a new photographer. He wanted me in direct sunlight, he was so convinced it was the best way to shoot! I told him it was too harsh and he wouldn't agree. So I told him I model best if I move naturally, and I slowly moved into the shade. After he saw the shots in the shade he didn't shoot in direct sunlight again. Haha!
Mila please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
I think my proudest moment was when I was walking down The Venice Beach Boardwalk and saw myself on an advertisement banner because it caught me by surprise. I had signed the release for it but didn't know it was actually going to happen, or where it would be! I was like "holy cow that's me"!
Mila, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I've always been about being free, connecting with nature, having fun, letting go, and leaving the past behind! I did a photo shoot for the album cover of my first iTunes single "Die". I threw my arms up into the air and let a sheet fly in the wind behind me. We captured who I was all into that one photo! It was exciting to see something like that come together!
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
Stay unique, learn to walk, be professional, be reliable, exercise, and keep up with trends!
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I am looking to collaborate with designers and brands for the runway, fit modelling, catalogues, campaigns, and even social media marketing.
Now for the best part Mila! Please upload 5-10 photos so we can get to see your work.
