I am a Fashion blogger from the Philippines. My personal style doesn't fall under any other fashion trends. I don't just do fashion because I am fashion. I am easy to work with. I don't entertain failures instead I persistently push through to achieve what I want.

Our readers would love to get to know you more Mike. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?

I decided to go with the name Mike Qing which simply means Queen and King combined to represent nongender specific fashion and style. Fashion should be-be personal to make a statement and original. And so, I wanted to represent limitless fashion since my style doesn't fall under any gender instead I just wear what I want regardless of the concept of gender specificity.

Mike, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Blogger?

I started blogging about fashion and style since 2015 when I established my very first website mickeyqing.com before my switch to mikefashions.com this year. I signed with Stylo which is a fashion agency in Malaysia who invited me to represent them in Mercedes Benz X Malaysia Fashion week. Fashion has always been my passion and so I became one. I handled social media responsibilities of designers from the Philippines and skyrocketed the launching of new events and names of people in fashion as well. Besides fashion, I am also a pre-medical student pushing through to be a medical doctor someday.

Who is your inspiration in life Mike? How do you keep inspired?

The people around me and those people who need me inspires me a lot. I break my heart to see the world suffer especially the less fortunate. I remember when I was still in undergraduate college, I offer meals from Jollibee (they have the best chicken in the world) to street children every time I achieve something like high marks not to mention me being a consistent part of Dean's List. That's also one of the reasons why I entered the medical field. On the other hand, fashion is a platform for me to inspire others as well making me work even harder and spark confidence in the people's hearts especially those who lack it. I wanted to be a role model to them and that perspective alone inspires me. And of course, I can't do all these without my family and when I say the family that includes my mom, dad, brothers, aunts, uncles, and cousins because we are the type of family who considers everyone brothers and sisters instead of cousins because we live together. These are the people who inspire me to push through and keep going for what I want in life. That is to give back to those who need me.

We all make mistakes Mike, we wish we could take back. Please tell us about a time being a Blogger, you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I remember when I handled the social media of this designer that I worked for in a fashion festival in Manila Philippines. I was so into achieving the job going around the venue trying to capture the best moments of the designer's show from backstage to interviewing his guests while taking a snap of them that I forgot to document what I did for my own brand or at least couple of shots. I did snap some clips on my snapchat although of course documentary from another perspective would have been better. So the lesson didn't forget to bring your personal photographer with you and that's what I did in the succeeding events I have attended.

Mike, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Blogger, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?

Time management is very important. A large number of clients do not intimidate me because I am an expert when it comes to time management and listing priorities and that's what I do. Scheduling is one way and if ever there are conflicts within the schedule, handle it properly and offer the clients the best schedule they could ever have.

Please tell us, Mike, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Blogger?

I remember when I had to attend a modeling class by one of the top models in the Philippines- Rissa Mananquil Trillo, and on that night on the same date, I had to be in two events. the first event is at a club where I promoted wherein I have to entertain the guests. The second one was the music festival sponsored a phone brand which I have to appear to as well. And in the next 2 days was the Philippine Fashion Week which I was invited to as well to attend. Since all of this event were held in Makati and I have a condo unit in Makati, what I did was I grabbed all my clothes for all of this event and told my personal driver and assistant which happens to be my sister as well to take me to our Makati condo unit. From there I went on to all the events one by one with specific time allotted. The problem was the two nighttime events. What I did was I went to the club, assured my guests were fine and asked a friend of mine to substitute and then I head on straight to the second event asking my friends to join me just so I have people to do some of the socializing responsibilities and so we did. If you have the right time management skills and support team, you'll always go successfully.

Mike, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
Good thing I didn't have to persuade many people because at first glance with my work they already love it. That is what I always do, I give them not just options but the best options to them they'd want to have it all. Offering them the possibility of developing best results is one way to persuade them to not only work for you but work with you.

Mike, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Blogger. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
All that I did has always been a proud moment for me but probably the most outstanding achievement I have made is being one of the contributors of the first-ever Manila Music X Fashion Festival in the Philippines where I gave away 50000 pesos worth of tickets to my followers and readers. Mercedes Benz x Malaysia Fashion Week was also a great one because it was my very first fashion week with Stylo after signing with them. Although, it's not the first fashion show I've been. I've been to fashion shows even before it.

Mike, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
Social media handling requires a lot of creativity. I remember when I handled this designer's snapshot for a fashion festival wherein I had to snap the best moments of his show from backstage to the actual show and post it right away for his followers to see. I also had to interview people who are his guests and it's a little bit challenging because these people are editors of magazines. So I also had to do an on the spot editing and filming. The editing part is a little bit of a time pressure because I have to put on filters and stickers and had barely less time to decide if it's good or what and I had to keep the editing still relative to his brand. I enjoyed so much doing it. I developed some strategies while in the process of giving him results. As I always say, that's what I do.

What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Blogger?

Know what you are and from there, produce what you are. Be you because that's what's gonna make people love you. Establish a platform and make a brand. Stick to it and grow from it. You'll be surprised how far you've gone someday. Trust me.
