Our readers would love to get to know you more Michele. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?
I have an active, creative mind and a huge heart. What makes me unique is my passion for writing short stories and short film screenplays. My active lifestyle has led me to give back to my community through charity. I am active in community recycling cleanups, and in various Big Brothers, Big Sisters of America outlets.
Michele, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
My passion is to inspire others through my creativity and my love for fitness. I started as a model after four rigorous years of building my body at the gym. During those years, I never once posted a gym selfies at all. Only when I believed I was at the right stage physically, did I then begin to promote myself as a model. I did this so I could show my audience how committed I am to my passion and cause.
Who is your inspiration in life Michele? How do you keep inspired?
My inspiration in life has always been Michael Jordan. His drive, work-ethic, and commitment to being the best parts of himself has always resonated with me. I keep myself inspired by constantly reminding myself of my roots and the genesis of my passion for fitness. I ask myself what would Michael do in times of success and in times of failure?
We all make mistakes Michele, we wish we could take back. Please tell us about a time being a Model, you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
When I first was starting out, I was very headstrong in thinking I knew what was best for me when it came to lighting, my good side, and my overall look. It must have been my second or third shot, but I was very stubborn with what my photographer had to suggest and what he wanted to do. Instead of letting him take the lead as the photographer, I imposed myself and did not cooperate with his instructions. This led him to walk out on the shoot and also led me to choose contact with his connections. Looking back on it now, I should have had more faith in his abilities and expertise. I definitely have learned from that experience to be more open-minded and trusting of the process.
Michele, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?
I prioritize my clients' needs by paying attention to what they are asking for and preparing myself beforehand so that I can provide the best service possible to them without wasting their time and my time.
Please tell us Michele, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
I do not recall a time where I had to be very strategic in order to meet all my top priorities as a model.
Michele, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
Working in politics can be a very cut-throat profession. Every single day you are constantly pushing your agenda while trying to make sure you are aligning your priorities with the wishes of your allies. One time at work, there was an important vote occurring in a few hours on a vehicle weight tax. My colleague had spent months researching his stance on why the city should increase the tax. While on the other hand, I was against any tax increase proposes that fiscal year. Throughout these months, my colleague stood adamant with his beliefs and had the facts/statistic to back it. On the day of the vote, the city council was in a deadlock in the votes and needed a swing vote to kill the tax proposal. I was able to successfully convince this particular colleague to change his mind and vote in favor of no tax increases by ushering a deal with him that saw more revenue going to his district projects over the next 3 fiscal cycles. I got him to agree with me that while a tax increase would provide more revenue across the board, disrupting the current levels of revenue to his project priorities will have taxpayers money but also benefit his district tenfold.
Michele, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
My proudest professional accomplishment as a model has been getting my friend recognized for his work and talents as a photographer. Even though my modeling career is just beginning, I also want to make sure I help out other aspiring artists. My friend was able to get recognized by a credible gym for the shots he did of me at our old high school football stadium. This has landed him some work as a photographer and has given him validation in his own talents.
Michele, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
My former boss was a very old school in her ways. For community meetings or town hall events, she was adamant about only distributing a two-page, paper newsletter created by Microsoft Publisher. One time, the software was not working for our office, so I had the creative idea to produce a video newsletter which showcased photos and videos of a few highlights from the past month. The video newsletter also included an interview with staff and my boss detailing our office's priorities and agenda. This video newsletter was then emailed to all members of our district and to anyone who had RSVP'ed for the upcoming town hall gathering. Although it was difficult and more time consuming, this creative and innovative newsletter was a smash hit and our office then decided to do a quarterly video newsletter.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
Stay true to yourself and your beliefs. Be willing to be open-minded to suggestions and take any criticism as nothing but constructive. Finally, always continue to work hard at providing your audience with an exciting and creative material.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands, and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
Yes, I am looking at collaborating with fitness companies, activewear companies, fitness brands, fashion brands, fashion talents, fitness and fashion photographers, modeling agencies and other creatives such as film or tv.
Now for the best part Michele! Please upload 5-10 photos so we can get to see your work.
