When you have a sister, you are guaranteed a lifetime best friend, and that's exactly what we are, best friends. Sisters are for sharing laughter, wiping away tears and in our case, business partners sharing our love for photography together. We have always strived to take the perfect picture, selfies included ;). Heidi's love for photography flourished when she became a mom, she was introduced to love so surreal and found herself wanting to capture every moment, every detail of her precious baby, making sure not to miss a moment. This left us both wanting to help others capture memories of their families that they can treasure for a lifetime, and this is how we became MC Studios.

Our readers would love to get to know you more Heidi and Hallie. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?

Heidi has been a dental assistant for seven years, and I [Hallie] am currently studying Elementary Education while also working at a Wellness Center, but we found ourselves searching for something deeper. We both found our love of photography through our day-to-day lives and found joy in capturing moments for others. We grew up having to learn not to take anything for granted, and we learned how to value every second of our lives. Material things are not important to us; it's the love, laughter, and moments spent with loved ones. We are chasing after that feeling which goes beyond the ordinary. Looking through the lens of a camera lets us block out the rest of the world and focus on what's in front of us, the present.

Heidi and Hallie, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Photographer?

Heidi and I share the same passion of wanting to capture real-life moments. This began when we were both young and wanted to preserve real-life moments that others can look back on. You can never relive life, but photography allows you to treasure every second. When Heidi became a mom, she wanted to try to hold on to time; therefore, her love for photography flourished.

Who is your inspiration in life Heidi and Hallie? How do you keep inspired?

Our grandmother always carried a camera in her hand everywhere she went. Through her, we can look back on our childhood and see the child-like features that were once forgotten about. Life is forever changing, and there will always be moments needing to be remembered.

We all make mistakes Heidi and Hallie; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Photographer; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
Luckily, Heidi and I have always been able to see eye to eye. Even when there are disagreements, we communicate and compromise. We believe communication is the key to success.

Heidi and Hallie , when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Photographer, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?

Time, time, time. Quality over quantity is our motto. We try to schedule enough time between clients to make sure each client get adequate one-on-one time so they never feel rushed.

Please tell us, Heidi and Hallie, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Photographer?

Sometimes, you may have to climb a ladder or get a little dirty to get the perfect shot. For one of our shoots, we had to get a little wet and pray we didn't drop the camera!

Heidi and Hallie, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
We always try to give options and let the clients pick, so they always feel included. Whenever they have a suggestion, we explain why we think it may or may not work, and we will always attempt for them.

Heidi and Hallie, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Photographer. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
Our proudest moment is a sentimental one. We were taking photos of our friend's four-month-old daughter. Our friend, Dana, had a cousin, Cole, who passed away Thanksgiving night in 2016, and she had a necklace with his fingerprint on it. We had the idea to incorporate that necklace into her daughter's photos. It was a very touching moment, and we are so proud of those photos that will always be cherished!

Heidi and Hallie, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
It's amazing the things you learn over time. Light reflectors were a great find for us. Reflectors allowed us to learn how to control the sunlight when you are in an open field. We also had to learn how to use stormy clouds as a soft box in one of our sessions. It was a challenge to learn, but it was also fun!

What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Photographer?

Never give up. Learn from your mistakes and build off of them. Use your failures as stepping stones to climb until you reach the top.

Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
Yes! We would love to collaborate with fashion brands!

Now for the best part Heidi and Hallie! Please upload 5-10 photos so we can get to see your work.
