I find that one of the unique things about myself is my height, especially in this industry. I'm 5'2, and I understood from the beginning, there aren't many short models, but I will not let that stop me.
Mary, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
My passions in life are to make a difference but in a way as artistically as possible. Allowing women to understand that no matter the standards in modelling your are still beautiful.
Who is your inspiration in life Mary? How do you keep inspired?
My inspiration is my mother; she only has my brothers and I after oh stepfather died. I wish to help her financially as much as possible but doing so with my passion.
We all make mistakes Mary; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
At one of my go-sees, I wasn't that nervous until I overheard one of the girls describing how they should walk to another girl. I got nervous and distracted. I walked horribly for my see. I wish I would've never listened to other voices and allowed myself to stay focused.
Mary, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
By taking care of my health and well being, I know when and how to schedule my photoshoots and make sure I can give the best results.
Please tell us, Mary, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
One of my photographers were a little precise about what their vision was. I did my research by looking in magazines and online to make sure I met the demands of the specific look they desired
Mary, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
My first photo shoot, the photographer was unsure of where to shoot. I showed him a location that would work well with the theme and the way my clothes went together to create the perfect image
Mary, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
My proudest moment being a model is having one of my photos put up in an arts building on a university campus and being sold in the first week of being there.
Mary, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
My last photoshoot I was able to create a piece that was worn on the day of the shoot. I made a huge tulle shirt that wowed the photographer.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
The advice I would like to share would be always to stay strong and keep your head up high, never stop practising and do not become your worst critic
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
