I don't think that it's unique, many people face this, but I had to choose to focus on one career path -Med school and not be able to fulfil my other dream of being a fashion editor. That's how my blog started and my freelance for other fashion publications- it brings me such great joy to write a trend report or help one of my readers with fashion advice!
Mary, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Blogger?
I started my blog when I was 15 as my dream at the time was so be a Vogue Fashion Editor and I wanted to see if I could practice my style of writing and dictate fashion trends. It grew into a whole family because I was a teen and many teenagers used to write me to ask for advice-fashion, family, blog-related. When I was 17 I, decided I wanted to be a doctor, no matter how much it hurt to put fashion second. At the moment, I finished half of Med school, I love it, but there are so many things to learn that I like to escape to my fashion blog a couple of ti offers of the k, just to feel sane. Nothing soothes me like seeing some Prada shoes and reading some Vogues magazine and blogging about it all!
Who is your inspiration in life Mary? How do you keep inspired?
There are three things which dictate my mood regarding fashion- books, music and TV shows. I'm obsessed with this theme and I noticed this the first time when I watched "Vinyl" - I wore 70s fashion for one month straight!
We all make mistakes Mary; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Blogger; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
My only regret is that in my first college year I didn't have time to blog and I lost some incredible collaboration opportunities, but it's natural- I had to figure out college and how to learn such a great amount of information in such little time.
Mary, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Blogger, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
I put their needs first, and I come up with 3 or more ways we can collaborate, and they choose the one they think it's best. However, I'm selective with the projects I take on; they have to match my vision and my taste.
Please tell us, Mary, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Blogger?
Nine months out of 12 I have to be VERY strategic if I want to keep up with my studies and get top grades and also do my best when it comes to blogging. It's a real struggle really, but a beautiful one, I just can't bring myself to give up blogging, it's such a big part of my life!
Mary, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
I've learned a lot about my reader's behaviour, so, fortunately, some of my clients listen to me when I say a whole different approach would appeal to my readers.
Mary, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Blogger. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
My proudest moment came when I designed my dress in collaboration with "Fame&Partners", and I wore it to prom, and then it got featured in TEEN VOGUE, you never forget this type of feeling!
Mary, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I'm always creative when it comes to a collaboration with a brand, I treat each project as an editorial, and I'm careful about all the details for the photoshoot-from the earrings to the setting.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Blogger?
Always be true to yourself and be a consistent-find time in your schedule to blog no matter how busy you are.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I' always open to collaborations, as long as the products of the brand appeal to me. When I see a product I always ask myself "Do I love it?" if I like it I know it my heart I'm not the right person for the collaboration and I just let the brand know we wouldn't be a great fit. That's because I give my everything when I work on a project, and I like to be madly passionate about the product I represent.
