Mario Sergio. Tell us ABOUT yourself.
I’m an actor from an early age and a professional model five years ago.
I have done training, some courses and have had the guidance of recognized actors of my country; I have being part of the important publicity and audiovisual campaigns, e.g.:
Soap operas in Colombia like “Noches de Luciana” and “Guerra de las Rosas,” modeling in Adidas stores, TV-commercials with KFC, Fruco, Galletas Festival and Pinkpop. I’ve been interested in being part of runway shows, but it has yet not been possible. Also, I have being involved with the fashion world, trying to start my clothing label in Bogota
As you can see I like being involved in the publicity world, having to model, trying to create a new style not just for me but for the world to see. My goal is to put all together every little thing I’ve to learn with every job I'm given.
I am a friendly, charismatic, good at working with others, committed to modeling and acting.
Our readers would love to get to know you more Mario Sergio. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?
I have an afro-Colombian background; I grew in this industry thanks to my dad who is a singer and actor in Colombia since I was little I had trained soccer.
My hobby was to sit and watch hip-hop and R&B videos which called my attention to the fashion world, seeing how they dress made me want to follow trends.
Mario Sergio, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
My passion has always been soccer, but I fell in love with the fashion world. I aspire to be successful in both my passions, I aspire to transcend and be an icon in the fashion industry, to be a creative director of my label.
I started being a model thanks to an announcement of a casting for a KFC commercial; they choose me for my qualities. Since then I started working on my image and kept going to castings.
Who is your inspiration in life Mario Sergio? How do you keep inspired?
My inspiration is my parents. They have supported me trough all the decisions I’ve made in life, and they are my model to follow. I am big dreamer staring my own little family, which makes me keep dreaming. In my wall, I have a collage of pictures of every goal I want to reach in life
We all make mistakes Mario Sergio; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
One time we were n between filming and it was more and less 2 in the morning; we had been filming since 9 pm. We had done my scenes pretty quickly ( there were scenes for colour people and white people.) The scenes for white people there was a guy who was acting for the first time, he asked for my help, but since we had been filming for so long and I was tired, I told him to hurry up and just do it.
Mario Sergio , when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?
In those cases, first I try to be clear on what their needs are, then I make sure I am giving true information with the best attention.
Please tell us, Mario Sergio, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
I had a photoshoot where I had to smile; my photographic record is not the best. So I had to do jokes with my colleagues until we got the photograph we wanted.
Mario Sergio, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
I was asked to kiss a girl in a scene, and the directions were the kiss should be very daring but I told the director since my character was a shy guy trying to kiss the love of his life, the kiss wouldn’t go with the scene
Mario Sergio, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
When I stared modeling, I did a photoshoot which I published them on Facebook, days latter I was contacted by an agency here in Colombia. I was proud my talent was recognized for them to contact me.
Mario Sergio, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I was publishing my brand for the first time, and we wanted it to be impressive, so we need a little runway for the people we knew. What was exciting was the guests were very satisfied with the work we had done with the clothing, and it was difficult to gather all of the things need to do a runway show.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
I would tell them that in the fashion industry you have to innovate.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
Yes, I would like to be involved in any collaboration.
Now for the best part Mario Sergio! Please upload 5-10 photos so we can get to see your work.
