Name: Marcos Edghill

Location: Franklin Park / NJ / USA

Profession: Photographer

Email Address:

About: I began my photography career as many others do, a hobby. I bought a camera as I used to follow my great-uncle around and asked many questions regarding a shooting. He gave me my first Polaroid. But it wasn't until I was in my Mid-20's that I bought my first film camera. While shooting events in my church, I was approached by one of my mentors to shoot his wedding. Long-story-short, I became the wedding photographer not only of my church but of churches associated with my church and family members who were in wedding parties.

My film strap would look like a bullet belt across my chest.

As my life took on a different track, marriage, kids, and a career in computers, I put the photography down for more than 25 years. Then a friend who became a pro gave me his older DSLR and my re-birth into the world of capturing images emerged.

I took courses, attended workshops and began shooting events when I was approached by another photographer who introduced me to studio lighting and thus began my shooting of models.

Today I shoot portraits, head-shots, fashion, editorial and fashion product photography.

Tell us something about yourself. What you do, passion and aspiration in life?: My passions include Golf, which I play sparingly (if you call what I do playing)!
Photography - which I love creating images, and capturing moments in time as well as making great images for fashion, product and editorial.
Most importantly is my passion for my family (blended) including my two sons, three daughters (my muses) and my lover, partner, best friend my wife!

Who is your inspiration in life? How do you keep inspired?: Professionally my inspiration comes from a host of photographers, of which one is a certified Master Photographer. My life inspiration is and will always be Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. who faced adversity unwavering in his faith and belief in the good in the human race.

My children keep me inspired as my legacy, I see the influences I've had on them both positive and negative, yet they manage to be successful and self-directed in life!

What is your aspiration in life?: I aspire to become a full-time photographer shooting for a magazine such as National Geographic or GQ! As vastly different the photography, I enjoy shooting bugs, birds, bushes and blooms as much as I do recording images of people and the habitats all creatures on the planet call home!

How old do you have to be before it can be said you died of old age?: 100

Do glow-in-the-dark objects stop glowing when somebody turns the lights on?: Nope - they stop glowing when my four y/o daughter says "its broken."

If parents say, “Never take candy from strangers” then why do we celebrate Halloween?: Because we aren't ourselves, we are ghosts, goblins, super heroes and movie stars, so everyone knows us, that makes them NOT strangers. Ha!

If one man says, “it was an uphill battle,” and another says, “it went downhill from there,” how could they both be having troubles?: Failure can happen in an instant, either while your building towards a goal or when you make the wrong decision or say the wrong thing.
