Our readers would love to get to know you more Marcio. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?

I'm a visual artist. I'm a photographer, makeup artist, sculptor and painter. I live in the dream world. My make-up is all about surrealism. I like to dare and I do not like the conventional.

Marcio, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Make-up Artist?

I love movies and the fashion world. Since childhood, I always wanted to be a filmmaker. Today I'm a makeup artist, but I love my profession. I create characters. I started as a makeup artist working on a park attraction, called nights of terror. I created monsters. At that time I was in the faculty of plastic arts, made video art, performance and paintings. After the park, I was nominated for the Fox and Universal channel to represent the Walking Dead and Face Off series in Brazil at fairs and events with creatures.

Who is your inspiration in life Marcio? How do you keep inspired?

Music, movies and dreams. They are essences to inspire me. I love art, science fiction, animation and horror movies. In music, I'm in love with opera, jazz, mpb, pop, indie rock, electronic and experimental. I love Lana Del Ray, The knife, Bauhaus, The liniker and Caramel ones, Pink Floyd, Lord, Tulipa Ruiz, Smoke City, Grimes, Roberta Sá, The Valey Below, Florence and Machine etc.

We all make mistakes Marcio, we wish we could take back. Please tell us about a time being a Make-up Artist, you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I have always been very diplomatic and accessible, I have no resentment or something I would like to go back. I believe in love to my profession, I respect myself and respect the next. If one day I went wrong I believe it was for my learning and evolution.

Marcio, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Make-up Artist, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?

When I have many clients and the dates are difficult. I have a team of makeup artists who prepare to serve my clients in good quality. I usually draw makeup. I'm a makeup teacher too, it helps a lot to teach my team.

Please tell us, Marcio, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Make-up Artist?

When I was invited to be a makeup teacher at a fashion school (Senac). I had to contribute to making a strategy to serve my clients, participate in events like a fashion week in São Paulo, train my team and teach my students.

Marcio, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
When you wanted to partner with a make-up brand. I picked up the products and made a creation and showed them to them. I earned much later.

Marcio, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Make-up Artist. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
When the makeup design I made for a commission in front of a samba school in 2016 was awarded. Received the 10 award of best commission. Greenhouse empire. My creations were heavenly guardians.

Marcio, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
When I had to make 3 characters that turn into 1. It was challenging and difficult with so little time

What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Make-up Artist?

Believe in your dreams, but the important thing is to realize them. Take initiative, make it happen. Create opportunities! We are all connected. Be kind and diplomatic. Nobody is better than nobody. Everyone has their moment to shine. Respect the moment of the next.

Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
Yes. I'm looking for more collaborators to make more editorials, video art and fashion film.
