I am a model in the Seattle, Washington area. I have collaborated with many photographers, makeup artists, and other models. I have passions for physical fitness and outdoor sports, and I love hard rock and metal music. I love for my modeling to reflect those passions, but I am very versatile and open to almost anything.
I have a BA from the University of Washington, and I work as a sonographer. Also, I am a singer with a mezzo-soprano vocal range.
Our readers would love to get to know you more Lindsey. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?
I love outdoor sports, like kiteboarding, surfing, mountain biking, ski touring, rock climbing, running marathons, and many other things. I also adore rock and metal music, and you can find me at concerts on weekends!
Lindsey, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
I got my start by entering the "Miss Alternative Seattle" beauty pageant on a whim, and I happened to get a fourth place! I connected with some models and photographers at the event, and one thing led to another, and here I am.
Who is your inspiration in life Lindsey? How do you keep inspired?
My father is my inspiration. He worked his way up from nothing to become a great physician and mountain climber. He reminds me that I am unstoppable and nothing is out of reach if you work hard enough.
We all make mistakes Lindsey; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model, you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I wish I had listened to my gut and not worked with people who gave me bad vibes. One time I worked with someone, and he ended up verbally attacking some of my friends and me. I let it roll off my back, but I have to remember that my time is precious and I will only work with people who show me utmost professionalism and respect in the future.
Lindsey , when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?
The key is to be very organized and maintain energy. Same day bookings in areas close to each other are always helpful, as well as being able to have clever costume changes at any location. Also, it's always a good idea to listen to my body and take a day off to rest if I need to.
Please tell us, Lindsey, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
I like to take as many opportunities to model as I can, while still maintaining energy and being fresh for each shoot. The best strategy is not to be afraid to ask for what I need, and still being able to compromise so that each person in a collaboration gets what they need for their portfolio.
Lindsey, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
There have been a couple of times when a photographer or makeup artist and eye didn't have the same vision, so I just listened to them and showed them respect while they explained what they wanted, and then I told them what I had envisioned. The best way to compromise and make sure that everyone is happy is to show utmost respect.
Lindsey, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
My proudest moment is working with one of my makeup artist friends and having her use me for her body painting project. The results were phenomenal, and it was such a joy to have the photographer, makeup artist, and I all walk away from the shoot feeling like we went way beyond our expectations.
Lindsey, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
There have been a few instances in which I had a vision that did not exactly work out as planned, but I worked with what I had. For example, one time I had a vision of a certain shoot at sunset, but the lighting wasn't quite right, but instead we were able to make beautiful silhouette shots. You just have to play around with what you have!
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
Go for it! Research photographers in your area and don't be afraid to reach out to them. At the very least, you will get advice on how to pursue your dream. Don't let insecurities prevent you from following your ambition. I truly believe that every human is beautiful and you can show it with photography.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I would love to do more fashion modeling, fitness modeling, and edgy makeup looks. However, I am open to most ideas!
