I grew up catching most of my time, never tried picking up a camera until I was in college because I didn't have enough time to sketch out my fantasies. So instead I started creating little worlds and started taking photos and video, until I became socially friendly and started asking individuals to take put in this utopia I created for myself, mostly to keep my dreams alive and keep me motivated.
Letlotlo, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Creative Director?
Sketching and animating are the main reasons I started doing this, it feels like I always wanted to produce photoreal sketches, but because of time management realised Art directing together with photography was the most efficient way to archive my goal.
Who is your inspiration in life Letlotlo? How do you keep inspired?
For a long period I thought my life was a dream, a dream I have created myself, that's why every day I wake up, I make sure I keep all my dreams alive.
We all make mistakes Letlotlo, and we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Creative Director; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I don't know; I always try fixing my mistakes on set before everything mostly because I work with the greatest teams and they always mention everything before it gets out of hand, so I don't know
Letlotlo, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Creative Director, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
As a creative director, I believe I am more of a leader, so I always have a team I can assign to duties. This helps me focus on Directing every client's content without any pressure.
Please tell us Letlotlo, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Creative Director?
I have had to create an everything that is on my Instagram page without a budget, not even a cent.
Letlotlo, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
The first-ever "job" I gotI walked on a film set, asked the Art director to let me prop and art direct one scene so that he could decide if he wants me in his team or not. Because I was dropping out of film school and I had to find a creative job. By the end of the film production, he asked me to lead his team, and I ended up doing it for the next 30 months of my life
Letlotlo, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Creative Director. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
I don't know; my proudest moment was being part of the best art team in the country three years in a row. Because I was composing for the screen, I mean it made me love my hands more than everything.
Letlotlo, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I got excited by the fact the I had to use mpepho instead of a smoke machine for more than a year and got away with it
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Creative Director?
Create what you think, not what you see
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I honestly wouldn't mind collaborating with any brand that loves my style and respects my artistic interpretation of their work. I would love to collaborate with Rebook more than anyone thought.
