ABOUT

I'm an artist and an entrepreneur. Part of what I do as an actor and owner of an entertainment production company called Loving Life Productions LLC is storytelling through motion pictures. I'm newer to the modelling world but have some experience with print ads for smaller businesses and large corporations. I would love to continue learning more about this industry and applying my experience as an actress through the art of storytelling through still photos as a print model.

LaKesha, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?

My passion is entertainment and media. I believe my purpose is to bring messages of hope through the work that I do on screen, stage, and print. My Talent Agency Heyman Talent booked me my first major print ad job with a large corporation (Nationwide Insurance) in the Spring of 2017.

Who is your inspiration in life LaKesha? How do you keep inspired?

My faith in Christ and my family inspire me daily. They are constant reminders of sacrifice, love, and purpose for doing what I do as a career.

We all make mistakes LaKesha; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.

I'm newer to the modelling world, so I don't have too many examples. But I would say it's really important to understand what the photographer wants and how you can best execute that emotion in a timely manner on set. Being attentive is important.

LaKesha, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?

I think it's important to understand the brand, company, and mission. Once you see examples of that and have an understanding of their vision, you can best prioritise what your client is looking for.

Please tell us LaKesha, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Model?

Right now I don't have any examples for that 🤗 But hopefully, with more bookings I will soon!

LaKesha, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.

I think having a background in acting is important. As an actor, our training requires us to study the behaviours of people, listen to details of how to interpret what is said (in the script) and portray the character as the writer intended. When I work with people, I try to see what they are saying from their point of view so when explaining my thought process for the execution of the work (if asked) there is a common understanding of intent.

LaKesha, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?

My proudest moment at this time was able to adequately and efficiently emote in the way the photographer and client wanted in a short period of time for the ad.

LaKesha, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?

I'm a creative so I like exploring different was to tell a story or interpret a character. In some of my latest work on stage and film, my director allowed me to find my character's voice and create a world that became real to me in every take so the audience could feel the experience.

What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?

My general advice as an artist would be to know your brand and audience. The entertainment world is so inclusive now. You may not have the looks that a runway client is looking for, but you may be perfect for different clients demographic. Always believe there is room for you. Because there is!

Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?

I would love to work and collaborate with Neutrogena, Cover Girl, Dark and Lovely, Miss Jessie's, and Pinky Promise.
