I have been doing Taekwondo for half my life! I am currently a third-degree black belt! To me, Taekwondo is a huge part of my life, and I love it.
Kyleigh, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
I have wanted to be a model since I could remember. I have baby pictures of me as a four-year-old serving it in a pair of floral short, a white halter top, and a bandana around my hair. For the longest time, I didn't think of how to become exposed to the modelling industry, until recently. I sent in a few snapshots to NYMMG, and they emailed me saying that they like my look. I am so happy to be signed with them!
Who is your inspiration in life Kyleigh? How do you keep inspired?
I can be inspired by the little things that happen throughout the day. But the person who I look up to Is my mom. She is always there for me, and loves to encourage me to chase my dreams! She's my sidekick when I have to travel anywhere, and all makeup artists and photographers love her instantly. She's a good-hearted person and enjoys life. She inspires me to be the best I can be.
We all make mistakes Kyleigh; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
When it comes to my time being a model, I become a blank canvas. I am down to have grease, or honey, or any makeup look that the photographer is looking for. I am very easy going, and I take my opportunity to be there and live in the moment.
Kyleigh, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
I have not been hired for any jobs yet; I am still in the process of making my portfolio stronger. But, if I were to relate this back to the photographers I have worked with, then I would have to say, that I would give 120% to each photo shoot. I believe that the clients chose you for a reason, so I would need to make the most out of, maybe even try new and different things.
Please tell us Kyleigh, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
My main priority as a model is my health. I would not be even looked at as a model if I was not at what I consider my "model weight". I love to go to the gym, and when life gets crazy, I make sure to stop by the gym to release tension and stress. I have stress with school every day, so it is not hard for me to remember to go to the gym and release it!
Kyleigh, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
I have many jobs that I currently work. The only thing that I have to do to pursuance someone is, to be honest with them about my opinion about the matter, and the people sometimes change their mind to side with what I have to say, or they will think opposite of me. I am a very honest person, and I would rather give people my honest opinion and thoughts and let them decide what they want to think for themselves.
Kyleigh, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
I have recently worked in Pennsylvania with a fashion designer. His name on Instagram is @closetbychristobal, and he has some amazing pieces! I am so lucky to have worked with him, and I would love to work with him again!
Kyleigh, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
When I modelled for @closetbychristobal, I had to think editorial. Everything that I had done up to that point was probably considered as "safe" photoshoots. I had to get into the mindset of editorial and think outside the box to get cool and interesting shots. When I started in my first outfit, I used all the safe editorial poses in the book, and they were just not cutting it. I had to put my flare on them to make them new and exciting. There was one point that the photographer took a shot and said, "That is your money shot right there". She didn't show me, but I hope when she finishes editing it, it will be amazing!
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
All I can say is what people have been telling me, and that is to follow your dreams. If you want to be a model, go for it because you only have one life, and you will regret not trying if you don't. Go for it, and you will be surprised to see what you are capable of!
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I'm looking for absolutely anything and everything. I love being in front of the camera and putting my skills to the test!
