While I constantly have my nose in textbooks reading about electromagnetism and logical truth tables, I also can pick up a brush and paint my face eloquently.
Kryssa, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
To show girls that they can still be smart and crave knowledge while also strutting down the runway. Also after battling an eating disorder for two years, I want to show girls how to appreciate their I natural look - without all the makeup and frills.
Who is your inspiration in life Kryssa? How do you keep inspired?
Jane Eyre because she is the epitome of self-empowerment. She shows women and girls that you can be strong without a man and that looks are not everything in this world.
We all make mistakes Kryssa; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
Not studying up on swimsuit poses before I did a beach shoot. It was super embarrassing!
Kryssa, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
Constantly having good communication and tackling tasks as early as possible. Also, prioritising by the deadlines.
Please tell us Kryssa, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
I had to wake up at 2 am for a sunrise beach photoshoot in order to be back to school for a chem lab by 8 am.
Kryssa, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
A customer was unconvinced about products I had shown her, but once I handed her a mirror and showed her how to do it herself, her whole mood changed and we were on the same wavelength. Once you show someone the way of doing something and how simple it is, they tend to be more open to your ideas.
Kryssa, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
I had a Disney Princess shoot where I had done my own makeup, and everyone had been asking me on set who had done it. When I told them it was me, I was hired to freelance out of it!
Kryssa, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I created a half monster half glam look for Halloween at work. It was difficult because I could see the concept in my head, but I wasn’t sure how to tackle it. It all paid off in the end once I finished because the moment I started, my ideas ran wild.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
Believe in yourself - sounds cliche, but the moment you do, NO ONE can bring you down. Self-love and powerful confidence are a force to be reckoned with.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
Either a jean brand because I am CONSTANTLY wearing all types of jeans - maybe Levi’s or Guess. Also, a makeup brand like Anastasia Beverly Hills - I’ve always dreamed of being able to have PR packages sent to me.
