Fashion Stylist

I have been a stylist in the fashion industry for 25 years. I work primarily in print and video. I work all over the United States but base out of St. Louis. I recently launched a line of 5-free polish called K.Ferrara Color. K.Ferrara Color offers a carefully curated line of 12 perfect colors for your nails that are elegant and sophisticated. They are free of the five most harmful chemicals that are in other polish lines.

Our readers would love to get to know you more Kathy. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?

Because of my experience as a stylist, I have an excellent sense of color. My polish line reflects this.

Kathy, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Fashion Stylist?

I love what I do! My passion has always been to have my line of polish. My line streamlines the polish choosing process for women. It's overwhelming standing in front of that wall of polish trying to choose the right color!

Who is your inspiration in life Kathy? How do you keep inspired?

All of my polish is named after inspiring women. Ruth, which is a very striking ruby, is named after my grandmother. Kathryn, which is a gorgeous burnt orchid color, is named after my mother. All of my colors are named after strong, confident, inspiring women.

We all make mistakes Kathy; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Fashion Stylist; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
One of my only mistakes/regrets is not starting my line earlier! "One who makes no mistakes makes nothing at all." Giacomo Casanova

Kathy , when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Fashion Stylist, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?

I'm all for customer service as a stylist and as the founder of K.Ferrara Color. My favorite part of both of my jobs is interacting with my clients!

Please tell us, Kathy, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Fashion Stylist?

I love what I do, so it never feels like work. I work during the day on set as a stylist, and afterwards, I work on K.Ferrara Color! I love my days and feel very energized doing what I do!

Kathy, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
Because of my experience years in the industry, my clients depend on my ideas and opinions. It's the same for K.Ferrara Color. I truly want women to fell and look their best. I want them to feel confident in every are of their life!

Kathy, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Fashion Stylist. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want with share to everyone. What is it and why?
I am so proud of my line of nail polish, K.Ferrara Color. It is a line to help women feel empowered and confident. I diagnosed with colon cancer 11 years ago. I am in full remission. I started looking into the chemicals that we put in and on our bodies. It was very important to me that my line was free of harmful chemicals. I'm very proud of this and the gorgeous colors! I'm also proud of our packaging! It's beautiful! So our polish makes a very special gift.

Kathy, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
To put all of my creative energy into my polish line was such a joy! It has also been wonderful to learn new things along the way...packaging, shipping etc.!

What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Fashion Stylist?

I would say do it! Eleanor Roosevelt said, "Do one thing every day that scares you."

Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
We are a new company, just launched in June 2017. We would love to collaborate with other brands and creatives!
