I was a mechanic in the Marine Corps for three years now I am studying mechanic engineering at Hudson Valley a community college. I have been a brand ambassador for multiple companies for the last few years which got me into modelling.
Our readers would love to get to know you more Katelyn. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you, your brand or the services you offer?
I am a very spontaneous person. I can’t count how many times I just randomly picked up a go bag, got in my car or hopped on a plane just because I wanted to travel or get away for a while. I love to try new things; I’m working on getting my bartending license. I want to go skydiving a lot to the point where I can go alone.
Katelyn, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
I want to be the person someone looks up to. Even if it’s one person. I want to let people know my journey, and I want them to relate and be like “she’s overcome so much and is still on top and striving. I can do that too. I want to do that too”. I started out as a brand ambassador for a few clothing/supplement companies. Then I’d get messages from starting photographers asking to photograph me to help build their portfolio, and it just went from there.
Who is your inspiration in life Katelyn? How do you stay inspired as Model?
My inspiration is my grandmother. She keeps pushing me to be the best me. I stay inspired just by remembering why I do it. Remembering Why it makes me so happy
We all make mistakes Katelyn; we wish we could take back. What was the error you made in the past that you want to you can bring back?
There are no major mistakes that come to mind, but I guess letting specific opportunities pass me by because I wasn’t very confident in myself at the time. I wish I could turn back time
Katelyn, How do you describe yourself regarding working with clients?
When working with a client I want their vision to become a reality (If it’s a photo shoot or runway) if I am doing a promotion, I want to make sure I’m promoting the product exactly how they want. I’m very friendly and adaptable.
Please tell us, Katelyn, how do you prioritise work, social life, friends, and family?
A family is always number 1. Then work, friends and social life.
Katelyn, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
I can’t think of a situation at the moment.
Katelyn, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model.
My proudest professional accomplishment as a model would be having TheFashionJournalTokyo comment on my photos telling me to submit for this. I’m still very new to the industry, so I still have a lot to accomplish
Katelyn, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or challenging about it?
I was working with a photographer in California on a project called LoveThySelf and another beach photo shoot. During the love thy self I wrote some negative things that I had believed about myself and then broke the board with my hand as a symbolization of them not being accurate. There was a lot more in the photo shoot and project that brought me to tears.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?*
Don’t give up. Don’t listen to any negative comments. You are amazing, beautiful and talented. Keep striving
