Alright, now for the interview! Firstly Karmilla, how would you best describe yourself?
Our readers would love to get to know you more Karmilla. Tell us about yourself, why you are passionate about what you do, and your journey so far.
I love to make my reality differently. In my artistic research, I use photography with cuts of shadows and lights for portrait sets, fashion and live sets.
I sometimes use digital manipulation to create works that point to surreal, bizarre and sometimes grotesque paintings, always strong iconographic and visual impact.
The existence and the fall of the human condition are central issues of my work.
Inspirations come essentially from Greek classics, Nordic romantic literature, Renaissance masters such as Caravaggio, contemporary writers such as Dick and
Pahlaniuk, directors such as Tarkovskij, Derek Jarman, or photographers like Peter Witkin and Jan Saudek.
